Wolf's Wasteland Cache

Description
A Survivalist’s Best-Kept Secret

The world has fallen, and survival is all that matters. Whether you're a nomad navigating the ruins of civilization or a hardened survivor planning for the long haul, Wolf’s Wasteland Cache gives you the ultimate tool to stash, safeguard, and survive.

This immersive, lore-friendly mod introduces the ability to bury hidden caches, allowing you to create secret stockpiles of supplies for future use. Whether you're tucking away emergency rations, a backup weapon, or valuable trade goods, the ability to hide resources deep in the earth brings new depth and strategy to the game.

In single-player, you can set up dead drops across the world, ensuring you never run out of essentials when things go south.
In multiplayer (WILL NEED TO TEST WHEN B42 MP GOES LIVE), the real game begins—who can you trust? Hidden caches become secret supply lines, war chests, or bait for the unwary. Protect your stash… or risk losing everything to another survivor who finds it first.

How It Works
Bury Hidden Caches
To bury a cache, you’ll need:
  • A shovel.
  • A tarp (consumed during the process).
Caches can only be buried outdoors, keeping it immersive and balanced.

Strategic Stashes
  • Store your own loot and create hidden emergency reserves across the map.
Use Dead Drops to Plan Ahead
  • Scatter caches throughout the world so you always have a safe backup supply in times of need.
The Multiplayer Mind Game
  • Bury caches in hidden locations, use them to resupply your faction, or bait greedy looters into a trap.

---

Potential Future Updates & Planned Features
  • Guaranteed Empty Containers - I'm working on making sure caches always spawn empty.
  • Trapped Caches (Multiplayer-Focused) - In a future update, players may be able to rig their caches with traps, adding risk, strategy, and deception to multiplayer gameplay.

A dream mod, waiting build 42 mp to test it!

Also, you can make a 'cache hunting'-game for MP if you include some geogaching (gps locations), foxhunting (radio triangulation), treasure hunts (maps) etc. options for some fun distraction during the apocalypse.

If you want to go next level;
Add 'Paintcan' Cache, to make paintcan's re-usable.
Add 'Probing stick' to hunt for hidden buried cahce's in MP.
Add 'demoisturizing bags' to cache's to act as food preservers and durability preservers for weapons (i.e. moisture in the gorund, condensation etc. will cause deterioration of the contents of a cache. The demoisurizers are simlar to those balls in bags you find in shoeboxes etc.)

Great points and it aligns with my vision. Players can figure out clever ways to mark their caches, if they wish. All part of playing smart.

guys take 2 logs place them on the ground, make an "X" out them. or use other stuff in the world to use as makers. its not that hard to be creative lol. I love that theres no graphic and would prefer it stay that way for when B42 goes stable into MP.

No graphic. I considered it but I decided to go without. I do agree it can make it difficult to find but I felt like that way immersive and so I stuck with it.

Is there a graphic for the cache in game? I know the point is for the cache to be hidden, but I feel like there might be some challenge in finding your cache even if you've marked it on your map. A subtle graphic might help you find your own cache, but keep it mostly hidden from people who don't know where it is.
