Confession Normalization V2 [Beta]

Description
This is the mod that will receive updates! The older one can no longer be supported and is now unlisted!

Despite the name of the update, Kingdoms did a number on the Confession side of things. Some fairly subtle. Anyone who downloads this, be observant for any issues!

Normalizes almost all significant aspects of confessions. Almost all changes are made with Act 5 balance in mind.

The only change that isn't being inspired by act 5 is ordainment odds. The reason for that in particular is it didn't make much sense when I was looking at the numbers in the files. Ordainment would spike more from regions 2-3 than from 3-4. This is weird to me because you dont get as many leagues to travel in region 2 vs region 3 and up

As a result, I'll provide numbers for that specifically: Region 2: 0% chance. Region 3: 40% chance. Region 4: 90% chance

Before going into super details, here's all my other mods in one place if you like this one: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3302378411

Full list of changes:

What it normalizes:
1. Region amount
2. Trophy for the mountain
3. Loathing amounts
4. 0 flame ambush mashes
5. Region end cultist mashes
6. Bounty hunter hire chance
7. Optional region availability
8. Ordainment chances
9. First valley fight in denial gives 2 mastery
10. Acts 1 and 2 cultists are buffed up to their act 3+ counterparts
11. HP/DMG buffs from ordainment are all equal
12. All other unmentioned mashes that were filtered by confession.
13. Mountain cultist nodes
14. And maybe some other things I forgot

What it doesn't normalize:
1. The more unique aspects of ordainment buffs (i.e. getting crits copy positive tokens for only obsession still)
2. Torch bonuses between confessions
3. What happens at max loathing

COMPATIBILITY
This mod does a number of overrides, the most important of which is a few overrides in the conditions.csv file. If mod developers don't account for this mod, then there may be some unintended weirdness.

LOAD ORDER:
In general, load this later (higher) to be safe. However, it may need to get shifted around depending on what other mods do to the files I overrode.

FOR MOD DEVELOPERS:
The base game conditions for checking the run boss have been overriden. They will always yield true. I did this for a variety of reasons. The big one was future proofing the mod to an extent, especially in regards to mash compatibility, since that's the most cumbersome thing to build compatibility patches for.

During mash creation for mods (or even future base game updates), developers may wish to add the base game conditions that filter for confession so that harder mashes don't show up in earlier confessions. For mods/updates that do this, they don't have to consider this mod at all. If users don't have this mod, filtering will be done as intended. If users do have this mod, then the filtering process will be lifted and all mashes will be available, ultimately keeping with the spirit of "Confession Normalization"

Where things get weird is in other areas, namely skill creation. If you intend to make an enemy like the cultist altar, who has different abilities based on the confession, then using the base game's confession checking conditions will yield disastrous results! Imagine a cultist altar that adds all 5 confession buffs at once kind of disastrous!

A compatibility patch will be required for those kinds of mods, though that is honestly a given regardless of if I overrode conditions.csv or not. I provided new conditions that mirror the functionality of the [unaltered] base game ones. They will be found in the same conditions.csv file in the overrides folder and will have a prefix of "cn". You can use these while building a compatibility patch if you'd like. It's not necessary, but can save you a little time.

I think I know what happened and built a possible fix for it. This may or may not work, so just be aware.

Do you remember what confession it happened in?

Gotcha, I'll look into it tomorrow then

Yes, he has been ordained before in my previous runs, i got lucky.

Question on that: has he been ordained before and he lucked into not being ordained? Or is it he's just not ordained altogether?

Found another bug, The Exemplar still has a chance of not being ordained.
In the Steadfast Steward Update they made him guaranteed to spawn with an Ordainment, no more 10% chance of lucking out the fight.

Sent out a fix attempt for it. Let me know if it works, as well as other problems!

Everything seems to work fine, except The Lair Bosses don't become ordained with Bastard's Beacon.
