Stalingrad South - Kuibyshev Lumber Mill v1.0.3

Description
Created with the use of German Aerial Reconnaissance photos and further backed by historical footage, documentation, and first-hand accounts. From the topography to its flora, meticulous attention to detail is being put into creating a historically accurate, 1:1 scale reproduction of this 1.1km² area located in the south of Stalingrad. As we are attempting to make this map mimic, as accurately as we can, the state of the battlefield as it was in September 1942, this map will be updated as new information becomes available to us.

Historical Background:
"With Kuporosnoye now in German hands, a fresh attack was planned, this time parallel to the Volga in a northward direction, and for the first time, Petsch’s panzers were sent deep into a built-up area consisting of narrow dirt streets and ramshackle wooden huts. The attack began at 0330 hours on 15 September under an artillery umbrella. The panzer-reinforced assault group from Inf.Rgt.15 pushed north along the Volga towards the first major obstacle: an enemy defensive position set up along the Yelshanka Gully 600 metres north of Kuporosnoye, anchored by the Volga on one end and the Kuibyshev Lumber Mill on the other. The assault focused on the right, where the terrain was more open. The Soviet Guardsmen could not hold the German assault for long. They either fell back into the lumber mill or to a secondary position along a spur railway line. While the infantry clambered down and out of the deep gully, the panzers darted out of cover provided by some apartment buildings and across an exposed bridge. By 0645 hours, after three hours of fierce combat, the advance stalled at the spur railway. Ahead of them, behind open fields, stood the Elektroles '25 October' Power Station." - Mark, J. (2017) Panzerkrieg: Volume 1 (German Armoured Operations at Stalingrad), p.285, p.292. Leaping Horseman Books.

Notes and Important Information:
This map is completely playable in domination but you will notice that the capture points in the Battle Zones game mode are not set up correctly. This has been done intentionally to accommodate Test Mode battles which we use in our own campaigns where we fight with the actual historical forces deployed in this area.

This map is designed for up to 8 players, exceeding this number will cause a crash.

Although this map is completely functional in vanilla, we have found that it's topography plays really well with extended range and/or realism mods and so we recommend those in order to enhance your experience.

Whenever a new update comes out, we recommend resubscribing to the map to make sure it works.

You have our permission to use this map as you see fit so long as we are credited and any uploads have links redirecting here.

Can you add 369. Croatian regiment ? They wore german uniforms, used german weapons, had chessboard on the right side of helmet and had chessboard emblem on the left sleeve, they were fighting near bath house and direction of their attack was "Krasnij Oktober"/Red October, they were the last defenders of Stalingrad alongside germans. Please add their models ☺️

We have discussed creating a historically authentic campaign using the historical forces, but its a lot of additional work that would detract from me creating new maps. If someone wants to take on the creation of the missions, we are more than happy to work with them and provide access to historical resources.

amazing.
any chance you could make a sp/co-op skirmish version for this?
like the ones where you have to take and hold 7 zones.
would be epic.

Its a passion project and part of a custom campaign a few friends and myself take part in. It takes a ton of work, but I will be working on it, one map at a time.
