Description
An Eye for An Eye - DS Edition
This mod brings the An Eye for An Eye update from Don't Starve Together into Don't Starve and its expansions (Reign of Giants, Shipwrecked, and Hamlet), adapting its mechanics to fit the single-player experience.

Features
This mod introduces new creatures, items, and challenges from DST:

Eye of Terror & Twins of Terror (Retinazor & Spazmatism) – Face off against these terrifying Terraria-inspired bosses!
Egg of Terror & Suspicious Peeper – All three bosses can spawn Eggs of Terror, which eventually hatch into Suspicious Peepers—small, aggressive creatures that will fight for their monstrous progenitors.
Terrarium – A mysterious object that calls forth the Eye of Terror, now spawning inside the Conspicuous Chest
Eye Mask & Shield of Terror – Powerful defensive gear, with feeding mechanics [ROG, SW, HAM]
Milky Whites – A unique dairy food obtained from the Eye of Terror.
New Foods – Bunny Stew and Frozen Banana Daiquiri (not available in DS due to the lack of ice).
Customization Options
Adjust the health of the Eye of Terror and the Twins of Terror to suit your preferred difficulty.
Set the delay before the Terrarium respawns, allowing you to control how often you can face the bosses.
Changes from DST
To adapt the mechanics to Don't Starve, several tweaks have been made:

General Changes (All Versions)
The Terrarium Chest spawns in a set piece in the Forest in DS/ROG, on the Beach in Shipwrecked, and in the Plains in Hamlet).
By default, the Eye of Terror has 2000 HP (5000 in DST), while each Twin of Terror has 4000 HP (10000 in DST). These values can be adjusted in the mod settings.
Some animation effects were not implemented for the moment
Specific Changes by Game Mode
Don't Starve (Base Game)
Bunny Stew & Frozen Banana Daiquiri are unavailable (due to the lack of Ice).
Bug Reports & Feedback
If you encounter bugs, crashes, or behaviors that differ from DST and are not listed in the mod description, please report them! Your feedback helps improve the mod and make it as accurate as possible.

Existing World
To access most of the mod in an existing world, you can use a command to spawn the Conspicuous Chest where you want to obtain the Terrarium. Enjoy!

To spawn the new items and monsters in the game, use the following console commands :

Why I just can't start the fight? Even I started a new game without insight, it stills not work. I put it on the ground and right click it and nothing happen then, only check it.

@Ekadaule I see, a shame, I did report this to the Insight mod dev, but I don't know how active they are, so its very unlikely they'll take a look into it, thankfully there are mods out there that have Insight functions (but not everything) as replacements, so I'm able to play this mod with some info mods.

As for the chest contents respawning, I am quite unsure as to how many in-game days have passed since I opened the chest, not to mention I traveled into the caves (to rush the ruins), I'll keep tabs on this due to the Guardian Pigs that spawn around the chest (not to mention the berry bushes that also get in the way of opening the chest)

@PootisWizard No worries about the spam, I appreciate all the feedback. I'm pretty sure the conflict with Insight comes from it being a DST-compatible mod. I noticed that even in the DS version, it includes files like toadstoolspawner. It's probably trying to call DST-only functions that don’t exist in DS, since the mod detects DST content and assumes those functions are available. Someone else reported a similar issue either with this mod or one like it. I don't I can fix it easily sadly.

As for the chest content respawning, that’s definitely not intended. I’m using the base game's scenario component, so it should only fill the chest once. Do you happen to remember roughly how much time passed before it respawned?

Heyo, I apologize for the "comment spam", but I think I just found another bug, not sure what I did to cause it, but it seems that the conspicuous chest "refreshed" its contents, as I found another terrarium inside it, despite looting it WAY earlier.

Heyo, played with the mod, decided to do the Twins Fight.

The night was very short so they escaped, when I hovered my mouse over the terrarium, my game froze for a bit, the suddenly crashed.

I have a mod that checks crashes on what mods could cause conflicts, and it points to Insight, the log can be seen here: https://pastebin.com/gFrQC2aj

I find this very odd because Insight NEVER had a problem with this mod as inspecting the Terrarium shows the summon_delay counter (when you summon either eye) on it just fine, so I have no idea what counters is causing insight to freak out and crash.

I'll post this on Insight's mod page too to see if its their end more then this mod, as I'm unsure which side is causing conflicts, hope to hear back soon :DSTpigman:

@PootisWizard I'm glad you're enjoying the mod! You're probably right, I might have accidentally overridden the base game music. I'll look into it this week and see what I can do to fix it.

Heyo, I've downloaded this mod as while I do enjoy DST, I love playing solo DS more then DST, and seeing DST content back-ported to solo is really nice to see.

I enabled this mod in my world and after doing the Eye of Terror fight, I noticed something off after the fight, the music just suddenly stopped playing.

No battle music, no work music, nothing... it was just silent, I thought it was some sort of delay or maybe it was just off accidentally, but no, the music completely stopped after the EoT fight, and I'm unsure why, but I could've sworn I faintly heard the custom EoT music whilst fighting, maybe smth that caused it to override the base game's music?

Other then that, I haven't encountered any other issues in my run, the fight was just like in DST and it does feel like how like this update would fit into solo DS, major props to you and I hope to see more DST content into DS soon! :DSTpigman:

Np:) I actually decided to start a world without the mods, which is too bad since I did want to fight the bosses haha
But it's all good, I havent played in a while anyway so itd be good to just make a long-term vanilla world

@Shuffling Seal Thank you for the additional information. I'll try to reproduce the issue in my world. If I'm unable to, there's a chance it may already be resolved in the upcoming update, as I'm currently finishing a huge refactor of the code. If the issue still persists afterward, I’ll do a deeper investigation to figure out what’s causing it.
