It just so happens that I've looked into some implementations of similar features (I'm currently trying to develop my own mod as well!). Regarding the problem of changing the orientation, you can modify the following to solve it simply:
(spear).changeDirCounter = 0;
或许你可以尝试修改spear的状态(例如: spear.mode = Weapon.Mode.Carried)这样应该会阻止拾荒者进行拾取判定。
Perhaps you can try changing the state of the spear (e.g. spear.mode = Weapon.Mode.Carried) which should prevent the scavenger from picking up the detection.

I found it really fun to play with, it is definitely on the strong side, but I don't feel that matters much!
Would be cool to see this become a modded slugcat at some point, it could maybe be called "The Magician" even! :P
