For the record, he seems to function perfectly fine - but, yeah, all of that is a bit weird, and strikes me as maybe something worth touching up, if you are willing and able to do that.

Man, it almost makes you wish you could deploy APCs in-game.
if you join you need to wait a bit since we assign roles manually to keep unwanted trolls out.
This, however, is a squad of regular ground-pounder soldiers from an APC, with not a lot of equipment to choose from, not the most experience, not too much training, and even ranking them up to max takes quite a while. The absence of doctrine is a nice touch for me, although I understand that their author might change it soon.
It feels double-awesome managing to clear some tough campaign without losing anyone (it is a challenge to me), because you know that the odds are stacked against you.
