I've noticed there's some weirdness with the RPG-7 guy. The RPG seems to be treated both as a "gadget" and as an actual weapon, because there's an option to swap to secondary, and, well, he carries it slung across his chest like a rifle, rather than on the back like large tool rocket launchers normally are carried. He also gets both "shoot grenade" and "shoot rocket" options, which both however fire the RPG and share the ammo pool?
For the record, he seems to function perfectly fine - but, yeah, all of that is a bit weird, and strikes me as maybe something worth touching up, if you are willing and able to do that.

I know you only want to maintain the mod but i do think it would be cool to see two more squads added to make it a BTR platoon. This would make the squad much more usable in multi week Tour of Duty campaigns and larger missions.

Thanks for adding doctrine! I somehow still wanna play without investing points into it, to keep up the simplicity and hardcore feeling of this squad, but I appreciate the effort all the same!
Man, it almost makes you wish you could deploy APCs in-game.

@[G.W.] Sunbro Greg glad to hear that all. Yea the BTR guys are just dudes who signed up in the army, they are nothing more and nothing less, just ordinary people with basic military training. I feel that this is one of the best mods for playing this game. In most cases, the squads you play as, as army spec-ops or police counter-terrorist units or some other form of elite forces.

This, however, is a squad of regular ground-pounder soldiers from an APC, with not a lot of equipment to choose from, not the most experience, not too much training, and even ranking them up to max takes quite a while. The absence of doctrine is a nice touch for me, although I understand that their author might change it soon.

It feels double-awesome managing to clear some tough campaign without losing anyone (it is a challenge to me), because you know that the odds are stacked against you.

Noticed my guys dying extremely quickly and decided to look in the files for a bit and found that the armor values and armor piercing values are 10x less than they should be. For example, 6b46's "piercingProtectionLevel="5"/>" should be 50. Same goes for rifles, changing their pen from 5 to 50 for example. Ever since I think update 1.0, armor and armor penetration values have been multiplied by 10.

Как по мне, весьма неплохой мод на один мотострелковый отряд.
Единственное что смутило во время игры, это озвучка солдат, голоса из EFT не то что бы хорошо подходят русскому военному, хотелось бы услышать что то более подходящее.
Тем не менее, мод не очень большой, но приятный.
Думаю если бы сделать целую сборку, и создать несколько других аддонов с миссиями например, было бы круто применить штурмовой отряд.
Ну и наконец, хотелось бы русскую локализацию xd:csgoct:

Thanks for sharing. I definitely understand your points and I mostly agree with you but keep in mind that a lower numbers of operators make campaigns that much harder though (with fatigue and injuries). Then again your mod, your choice. Best regards

p.s. though classes will be defined i will not force anyone to use an MG on an MG Gunner for example since i myself rather opt for assault rifles. But no other class has their weaponry

@Zsu no problem, suggestions help me organise and find new stuff to add.
The Modded weapons are definitely stronger but in all fairness the vanilla AKM really sucks in every aspect. The Modded weapons are comparable with the SCAR-H or URG-I. The AS VAL is like the Vitorez but has a bigger mag and more ammo types as well as scopes. You can just try the BTR Squad weapons, i didn't really change much of their stats as they seem pretty balanced over all. There will not be 20 operators, it will be more like a Heli Load full, maybe 8 to 10 with a detached Sniper squad. Doctrines will of course come :rare_soviet_star:

To make myself clearer, by vanilla I meant:
-Balanced enough
-With woctrines
-And a pool of around twenty troopers with well defined classes like the vanilla rangers or Nowheraki swat.

@Zsu depends on when something stops being vanilla for you to be honest. Will it use vanilla models? No. Will it use Vanilla guns? yes but also modded once already featured in this mod since it's based on the BTR Squad mod (not all of them as of now though). It'll be a strong mix of modded and vanilla with a steady progression from Vanilla to Modded, Starting with the AKM NWS to AK-105, AKSU over to the AKSU M, AS VAL, AK-74MR and AK-12. Feel free to ask further questions, i'll answer them if i can. Maybe but just Maybe i'll launch the mod in an BETA like state soon TM!

@bblwillzv as statet above i am only maintaining this mod because i adore it, i'm working on my own mod which will feature more weapons, Vanilla and Modded alike, they will definitly have different unlock costs with a progression like AK Underfold -> AKM -> AKSU -> AK-12 -> AK-74MR maybe even the AK-74RMO from Broken Arrow VDV. More scopes come as well and i hope to add more non AK bases since russian SOF is known for using western weaponry too.

@Liberty the VDV will most likely fit your style then. One disclaimer tho, it will not be a 100% realistic composition since VDV do not feature sappers for example but are needed in door kickers to make new entry ways (except i give the Anti Tank class all the explosives)

My primary recommendation, if you intend on expanding further on this, is to make it so that you actually have to UNLOCK the newer rifle variants, and optics, and such on top of adding more weaponry.

@Liberty hey there, i'm working on the UI stuff, about portraits i can see what i can do. I am currently working on my own mod adding a VDV Air Assault brigade. If that's finished i will continue this one, may add portraits and stuff inbetween since those russian flags aren't the best for it

Other than that if a mod crashes the game door kickers 2 will start with all mods disabled anyways

yes, i have made the experience that people don't read the descriptions no matter how short they are. I am aware that door kickers 2 forces you to have it active if it is listed as required by Steam but the mod doesn't have any files in it anyways so it has no annoying pop up or anything like that.
