APOSTLE CONTEMNANT is a mod for Cultist Simulator that adds a whole new legacy and ascension path. Taking place nineteen years after the events of THE EXILE, you will assume the role of an escaped prisoner torn between escape and revenge during the Second World War. For a year during your imprisonment, you were taught and tortured by the Exile, who has now set you loose in the world to fulfill a harrowing design.

The Exile shared the shape of that terrible design with you before setting you free: this war is a special contest between the Edge-Hours, and the prize of victory is the raising of a new Name. When the dust settles - and if you have spilled enough blood - it is you who might be Named for the Wolf-Divided.

March west, to Berlin, where a great hinge of the Corrivality will turn. Take your revenge. Unmake your enemies. Seize your destiny.

This mod includes (among other things):
  • A new legacy, available after achieving the Eternal Enmity ending under the Wolf-Divided in the Exile DLC. You can also start it from the Sixth History menu if you choose to.
  • A new, difficult ascension path for Namehood under the Wolf-Divided.
  • A host of allies and enemies to try your might against as you traverse the Eastern Front.
  • Seven new endings with achievement support on the start screen's COLLECTION menu.
  • A new soundtrack
  • 70+ pieces of original artwork
  • Support for Chinese language translation

Your teacher and enemy - the one called Exile - has prepared an unspeakble destiny for you. The road to ascension will be long and agonising. Fight your enemies across 19 warzones on the Eastern Front and rise in the estimation of the Edge-Hours. Give yourself over to agony, and seek in the shadow of the Wolf to turn pain into power. Learn forbidden techniques of combat and wield them against titanic foes. If your hate runs deep enough; if you kill the right enemies; if you commit yourself fully to the achievement of a terrible vengeance, the Wolf-Divided may grant you a seat at the feasting table when all days are ended.

"We are no standing army or resistance network; we have no-one to call upon for relief or reinforcement. But this has forced us to adapt."

You are not a soldier nor a warrior, but merely an escaped prisoner. Your company is made of others like you - vagrants, deserters, refugees - and so your tactics must compensate where your power cannot. Without supply lines, you may have to cannibalise the fallen. Without reinforcements, you may have to scour the wastes for deserters and refugees willing to join forces with you. And if you lack the provisions necessary to arm a proper attack, you may have to make a suicidal gambit with the lives of your compatriots. The blood price will be high - but such is the cost of getting to Berlin if you desire revenge.

"The enemy approaches - can we rise to meet them?"

1944, the Eastern Front: the Red Army has turned the offensive against the Germans, and you are caught between the clashing waves of these two mighty armies. But they are not the only enemies you'll find on the field. The flames of war burn furious in Germany, thinning the boundaries between the world and the House, unsettling reality. The agony of the slain will coalesce into forms vicious and unrelenting. Monsters lope through the snow to dine on battlefield dead. And where the Corrivality burns at its height, those terrible immortals called Edge-Long may be drawn to the fighting like sharks to blood...

Dependencies
You will need GHIRBI and the Roost subscribed/enabled to be able to play this mod.

You will also want to play on the Gate of Horn beta branch of Cultist Simulator; the mod will not work properly otherwise.

Compatibility
This mod does not alter any base game or DLC legacies or mechanics, nor any modded ones. It should be compatible with all mods.

HOWEVER, please disable Season of Acquaintances while playing this mod.

I can see there are alternate versions of the Contemnant lore, splitting the winter aspect with either lantern, knock or grail, I've played for a few hours, maxed out my lore but still can't figure out how to acquire the alternate versions, help?

@gama2907 - No estimate; the translator I had working previously is actually having some health issues and we passed the work to someone else in the meantime.

I managed to make it work by following your instructions. One hour and 45 minutes in the nightmare sequence. And i'm now too late to go back. The worst past is that i can probably do it. If i couldn't i would've just restarted and be fine with it.

The suffering is getting to me in real life. And i'm too stubborn to just cheat,

Is it intended that I lose all my allies on going to Solibor? My three starting allies turned into memory cards on arriving at Solibor, then when I left those memories were destroyed, I assumed they'd turn back into their regular form when I left.

@SavagegameX - The id for inhuman remains is foe.corpse.unnatural

@Love Infinite - Right now I'm trying to see what can be done, as researching the bug seems to just indicate it's a Mac OS issue with the Roost playing the music. Still working on a fix, but perhaps you can put a sort of bandaid on it by:
- Replacing the exileandfoeboss.mp3 file in the mod's audio folder with a copy of a track that's already in the audio folder (renaming said replacement as "exileandfoeboss" of course )
- Going to the fighting_exile_foe.json file in the recipes folder and removing the:
"setBGmusic": [
"exileandfoeboss .mp3"
]
code that is there. CTRL F and you should be able to find the relevant code.

"Another play reported a similar problem whenever the other Edge Long would be summoned - could you send me your player.log file (can DM on Discord would be easiest, but I can also use a google drive link or something). Would you also happen to be on Mac OS?"

I'm also having this issue. Soon as the other Edge Long arrives the screen get's flooded with various enemy actions and it freezes the game. Am also on Mac OS so its probably related.

Is there any fix?

Love the new mod! This one manages to be even more atmospheric than the other two!
And I love the added difficulty of fighting two edge long at once! I'm definitely going to do a challenge run and do it without immortal assistance at some point.

Slight technical hitch I've had: I was upgrading my edge lore to the final level in the ruined country and when I left part way through, the verb was interrupted and I only got my un-upgraded edge lore back. I've been trying to figure out the console command ID for inhuman remains (or even just enemies that turn into them) but I haven't had any luck, so I figured I'd just ask.
