Description
Custom Void Generation

Custom Void Generation is a simple, lightweight extension of StageAPI that allows custom floors to generate in "The Void."

This means that any mod that uses StageAPI is compatible with it.

It has currently been tested with the following:

REPENTOGON should not be required, but is recommended, as it fixes some issues that are otherwise completely impossible to fix. Please let me know of any issues that happen with REPENTOGON or otherwise.

Lastly, Fiend Folio causes some issues with rocks and pits that are mostly visual. There are no current plans to fix this.

id send you a screen shot if i could but ill try to explain it again since my vocabulary sucks but basically, sometimes a void room generates and its just random decorations placed in random areas with a slight blue tint that looks nothing like the logo.

btw i forgot to mention, i have repentagon downloaded and when i click on c (mod control settings) it says i dont have any rooms unlocked

i dont understand, when i try this mod on, i only get a room with a blue color but no decorations. Does anyone know why this is happening?

im no expert and i dont use this mod, but im pretty sure the rocks and pits thing is an intentional fiend folio addition, unless you mean a non-textural issue or modded rocks / pits not appearing at all? fiend folio kind of "shuffles" pits and rocks i think. the only gameplay issue i can think of that would be caused is grotto mud being replaced by any other pit, but besides that its probably just fiend folio trying to make the void seem more "glitchy"

As you said, a lot of these things are due to limitations with the API. I try to polish things up with REPENTOGON, but it can only do so much. I will look into the Boiler issue, as I have noticed it myself, and I have to put out a patch soon because of a change in the nightly REPENTOGON build.

Removing the Shrines from Revelations is outside the scope of this mod because I'm lazy and don't want to integrate support for every mod. I will reconsider if I get annoyed enough, Revelations is my favorite mod ever.

Ascent support will be an update if I ever decide to do it.

There's several other odd things that happen in rooms from modded floors including; All special rocks being treated as pots, water sometimes disappearing in Boiler rooms upon reentry and rooms having either the Womb or Utero shader or Cathedral lights. All of these are probably caused by the limitations of Custom Stage API and/or Repentogon that are currently not fixable. But I kinda like them since it makes the Void more chaotic (both in-game and in-lore). At least the invisible grids and pits issue I had the other day fixed itself. I also think Revelations shrine rooms shouldn't be in the Void as there's no vanity shop (unless you wanna give yourself a challenge for whatever reason), but the Future rooms with the Steven traders and secret room merchant should remain since they can be helpful even in the Void. Lastly @Liz, if plans for Ascent support do happen, will it be included here or as part of a separate mod?
