German Liberation Skirmishes

Description
With the release of the Liberation DLC, the Western Front was finally brought to Gates of Hell, but Germany was left without any skirmish missions to take on the new challenge. This mod changes that!

These missions are designed to hopefully be on par with the officially made skirmishes, ensuring a high level of quality and tactical depth. Expect the same mechanics that make Skirmish mode so engaging.

Featuring:
✔️Bespoke maps – Each mission takes place on a custom-built map, designed specifically for these scenarios to provide an immersive and fun battlefield.
✔️ Doctrine Selection – Choose your doctrine carefully, as it will determine the reinforcements available to you.
✔️ Randomized Enemy Tanks & Emplacements – No two playthroughs will be the same! Enemy fortifications and armored units are slightly randomized each time, leading to high replayability and fresh challenges with every attempt.
✔️ Enemy Counterattacks – Prepare for counterattacks that will challenge your hold on objectives, providing that classic tug-of-war gameplay.
✔️ Difficulty Scaling – Like in official skirmish missions, higher difficulties mean more formidable enemy reinforcements, including more dangerous vehicles and well-equipped infantry.

Missions Included:
🔸 Counterattack at Mortain – Relive Operation Lüttich, Germany’s desperate attempt to halt the Allied advance in Normandy. Fight through the chaos as you launch a counterattack on Mortain!
🔸 Blood in the Lowlands (NEW!) – Set during the chaos of Operation Market Garden, this mission takes you to the Netherlands, where you’ll face off against American airborne forces and a formidable mix of British and American armour.
🔸 The Last Gamble – A brutal Battle of the Bulge scenario where you command German troops in one of their final offensives.

Future Content:
A fourth mission, likely a Germany environment-based scenario, is planned for a future update. However please let me know of any other battles you would like to see.

Feedback and Support:
I’m always open to suggestions and feedback! Let me know how you find the missions, and if you’d like to see anything added or adjusted.

If you want to give feedback / report a bug, please can you let me know:

  • Mission you are playing
  • Doctrine selected
  • Difficulty

This information is very helpful, especially the doctrine & difficulty selected for the scenario, as this changes a lot of what is happening in the mission. Thank you!

Special Thanks:
Without these people/groups of people, this ambition would have died long ago...
  • DJSatane
  • Marc
  • dud and other members from the GoH Discord for being so helpful!
  • The rest of the GoH team for making such an awesome game :)

Support the project:
I've spent the last year or so learning the editor and quirks with the GEM engine to help bring this project to life, aiming to create high-quality, immersive skirmish missions that feel right at home in Gates of Hell. It’s been a challenging but rewarding experience, and I’ve put a lot of time and effort into hopefully making these missions as polished and replayable as possible.

While donations are by no means necessary, if you enjoy the mod and would like to support my work, it would be greatly appreciated and would help me continue improving and expanding the project. Thanks for checking out my mod, and I hope you enjoy the missions!

Right having now played your missions extensively I can give proper feedback, absolutely phenomenal work,

I've seen it mentioned elsewhere in these comments that they are better than the developers missions and I couldn't agree more, there was a very deliberate and themed attention to the way you built and decorated the maps, the units you put on those maps and the flow of battle that takes places as you progress up the map, whereas the original missions we got felt very thrown together with an almost "F*** you, there's your stupid skirmish missions" attitude behind them, yours felt very much like they were made to be enjoyed and challenging at the same time,

really well done, if you intend to make more of these or some for the other factions then I intend to play them, you should be proud of yourself

so, finished the second and third missions without DLC - no bugs, crashes or any strange things. clean game, no other mods, no file changes, version 1.053.0, hardcore
may be useful for some SP players to know, or maybe it was just a lucky day - worth to try)

Its not just the units though, the whole environments are built using Liberation or Airborne content. And then yeah you have vehicles and units that were introduced for both US and Germany with Liberation and Airborne lol.

So yeah I don't even know how it works but I mean fair enough. I guess if you do run into crashes/glitches then you know why but otherwise have fun :D

the campaign works smoothly without DLS, maybe it skips on the unit without errors

bruh... I have no idea how it can even work with no dlc... Liberation especially...

I don't have any dlc and I've finished playing to the point of medium tanks. Thanks for the answer, I'll check the next missions

@Fleppkek which dlc don’t you have? I wouldn’t have thought you would be able to play it without the dlc but either way reinforcements shouldn’t be tied to this. Mission one usually has them a little later though, usually appearing as you take the Artillery and Heavy tank point

Thanks for your kind words on the maps

Is it possible that the bot won't counterattack if I don't have the DLC?
Mission 1 hardcore off doct
