Lost Connection

Description
I came across an interesting mechanic in The Talos Principle that I hadn’t seen used in any puzzle before (and I thought it was impossible). I built a puzzle around this mechanic to show how it works.

There’s a small chance you might solve the puzzle by accident (after all, you can sometimes luck into solutions). If you managed to beat it without noticing the trick, maybe that’s exactly what happened!

Ah, everything turned out to be so simple, thank you, for some reason I didn't even think that this was a bug because the connection is saved on the real connector

It seems more like a bug, because if you do roughly the same thing on a clone: take a connector, saving all the connections, remove the connection with the red emitter and add a connection with the blue emitter, and then put the connector back - the connection will still disappear with the real connector.

@Supernova
Sure, here is a clue:
If you hold the real connector in your hand, it won't lose its connection to the fake connector when the clone picks it up

Please explain to someone what to do, I don't understand.

The same mechanic (albeit in a more obscure way) is used in Mehland Mariana puzzle - The Elephant in the room.

If I may offer a hint to anyone as confused as I was... (1, subtle) resume the recording before placing the real reflector down (2, giveaway) AND wait for the clone reflector to be placed before putting the real reflector down
