Raiders Unleashed (Deluxe)
I WILL RAID! Will You?
Ever found yourself frustrated after going Feudal or reforming your Religion, only to discover you can no longer raid? While the Practiced Pirates tradition exists, it requires staying small.
Raiding can be applied in a more controlled manner. With a Character Interaction, you decide.

Did you find Raiders Unleashed (Basic) underwhelming, maybe want some bonuses?

Raiders Unleashed (Deluxe)
introducing three OP raiding traits and easy to use right click Character Interactions to add/remove.

Features:
Character-focused Raiding: Raiding becomes a personal choice through Character Interaction.
AI will not use this interaction.

Three Raiding Traits and an OP General trait:

  • Land Raider: Enables standard raiding, just like Tribals and Unreformed Religions.

  • Marine Raider: Unlocks Viking style raiding across water and rivers.

  • Ultimate Raider: Marine Raider, except OP.

  • Ultimate General: OP boosts.

  • Character Interactions: Easily add or remove these traits.

Game Balance Preserved:
This method will not cause AI raid spam, preserving a natural game state.

Compatibility: This mod makes changes to entries in the following files:

  • Common/Scripted_Rules/00_rules.txt
    A few entries.
  • Common/Defines/00_defines.txt
    Set Shattered Retreat to 1 province.
  • Common/Scripted_Triggers/00_scripted_rule_triggers.txt
    A few entries.
  • Added a few basic Traits and Character Interactions.
  • Interactions use interaction_category_uncategorized

These adjustments change the fewest possible file entries.
It should/will be compatible with most mods.
If in doubt, load this mod last.

Why raid through a trait?

Other raiding mods often enable all characters of certain types to raid, leading to constant AI raids that devastate realm control and development across the world.

This mod strives to enhance rather than interrupt normal gameplay and to maximize compatibility with other mods, while hopefully not needing updated every time a new patch comes out.

To my knowledge, this should not require DLC to function properly.

Probably does not work for Ironman.

Better idea, just have it be more knights instead of more men-at-arms regiments.

Yeah im afraid it 100% still loses me prestige to raid as feudal. tested on a clean save with this mod only loaded

I took a measure to prevent the player from getting raiding malus for being non-tribal.

If you get any raiding malus, let me know!

There should NOT be a prestige loss penalty. This comes from a flag that is set in a scripted trigger in 00_cultural_triggers.txt, "has_cultural_parameter = not_tribal_raiding_malus". This part, not_tribal_raiding_malus is then (in vanilla) added across the files. I did not set this line, so there should be no penalty for raiding.

If you notice a raiding penalty, let me know. And if possible, check your prestige right before turning in the loot and compare to after, so that any penalty can be determined to either be a display error that does not reduce prestige despite claiming it does, or that it's giving the penalty without the flag being set (which should not be possible).

I will look into correcting this, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

And yes, you can raid as Landless. The only problem is that in Vanilla, the mechanics around bringing loot back to base is not plugged in to landless adventurers. I will look into a fix, but I believe the loot is immediately delivered (which is what I've seen people post in other mods that allow landless raiding).

Update: I tuned down the traits just a bit. I don't want any users having integer overflow issues, and these cheats are there to enhance gameplay and maintain mechanics. Of course, use as you want to my brothas and sistas.
