Adaptive TPS

Description
Stop the Lag!!

Get the Best of Both Worlds: Game Tick (TPS) + Smoothness (FPS)!

Controlling things at high game speeds often causes your FPS to plummet, severely impacting your player mood. This can eventually lead to terminal eye strain... perhaps even requiring the installation of bionic eye (Awful)!

Does your FPS drop when you crank up the game speed?
And do you feel forced to lower your game speed by hand just to get smooth FPS back?

Problem Solved!

Enjoy a seamless, smooth, and intuitive RimWorld experience with the Adaptive TPS mod! Feel time flow perfectly with your free fingertip movements!

How Adaptive TPS Works:
This mod isn't just about managing TPS; it's designed to immediately eliminate the discomfort caused by low FPS. When low FPS bothers you during screen movement or pawn control at high speed time scales, Adaptive TPS is designed to immediately boost your FPS by abjust Time scale or slightly leveraging TPS the moment low framerates impact your experience, ensuring a smoother gameplay. without even feeling it.

Then, once screen movement and pawn control are finished, it immediately returns to the original high speed time scale or restoring your high TPS.

New Feature: WorstAllowedFPS Method
The WorstAllowedFPS method has been added. If you're bothered by how time scale changes, definitely try this option—you'll be very satisfied.
New Feature: Boost TPS method
Boost TPS method has been added. When the Player is idle at a high speed Time Scale, Consumes FPS to boost maximum TPS. Once the player starts control, it immediately returns to the original state.

Important Notes:
* Adaptive TPS too involved in gameplay? Check mod settings!
* You don't need an FPS stabilizer. This provides superior features. Check the mod settings for details.
* It has no effect on your save files. Use with peace of mind.

Notes say that "you don't need an FPS stabilizer"

I assume it's referencing this mod

@Dixie Flatline the game is CPU bound, not GPU bound. I'm not sure why you lead with having a RTX 4080 super then proceeding to not say your CPU when discussing rimworld performance?

why did this mod make it worse

ah, that explains why the mod wasn't auto changing my time speed anymore lol

thank you for this mod and the hard work just what I was looking for

So like, I really wish first-time users would check out all the different features in the mod options before using the mod, you know? 😊 But unfortunately, a lot of people don't realize what options are available and just start using it as-is, then get frustrated and delete the mod because it's not working how they want! 😭
That's why I updated it so that the most popular mod option settings are now pre-activated by default! That way everyone gets a better experience right from the start without having to dig through all the settings first! 💕✨

this made it worse

For what it's worth - the trade off for a much better fps rate is an occasional stutter, but the trade off is worth it.

La Blue I respectfully disagree in this:

I have a 4080 super rig, custom job - pretty powerful.

My map was crazy large so on fast forward I got like 22 FPS.

Your mod has REALLY, REALLY REALLY helped my performance.

Sir, you give yourself too little credit - you're a god among men.

Thanks man, great stuff!
