Be advised, this map requires the x86_64 branch on at least the steam deck during testing! All necessary assets should be included, so you're ready to go as soon as it's downloaded!

gm_indoorspaces is another technical map turned into an impossible labyrinth, this time attempting to make a map with no seamless teleports to test out navmesh optimization. So I started building connected rooms and doors and slowly it grew into whatever this is now. This build has some select nodes placed in the gallery, but I have NOT done the full navmesh just yet. Keep that in mind when playing the map!

One other aspect of the map was to make sure that if there was a door, the player could open it or eventually unlock then open it, so if you see a door and it's locked, you're on the wrong side! Keep looking, there's a way to get to every single room except for the control room. That one you'll have to noclip over to at the moment, and it features a debug display for the mood music system.

indoorspaces also doesn't feature any jumpscares, however there are several horror-themed encounters in the main level to be aware of. No pop ups or sudden loud noises, but tense vibes and maybe a startle. There's also several secrets around the map, see if you can find them all! I'll flesh out the rest of the map and maybe do one more WIP before final release hopefully sometime around the end of the month.

I've also included a system which plays background ambient tracks that are slightly based off of a mood score you accumulate while playing the map. Certain actions or entering certain areas will grant or deduct mood points, and that level of upper to downer is used to select an appropriate track (hopefully lmao). It works pretty well, but be warned it might do something weird like play 15 seconds of a track then suddenly fade it out. Still ironing out the kinks.

Well that's probably enough for just a WIP build, but as you can see this is quite a big map now!

Got a third WIP build up, I'm gonna be away from the computer for a bit so wanted to get something up to test. It's got the spawn fix in as well as a whole bunch of other stuff!

@Double.Dose hahaha yeah I've really gotta get his custom voice lines done, him running up out of the darkness in complete silence is scary as hell 😭

And thank you for the kind words! I'm hoping to get the whole thing done here in the next couple weeks, and the final version should have a handful of additions over this build.

I can definitely do that! I didn't even think about multiplayer lmao, though I will probably group the spawns near the current one, trying to control where players go first a little bit
