The Battle of Brody

Description

BACKGROUND - THE PATRIOTIC WAR

This campaign is loosely based off the Battle of Brody that occured from June 23, 1941 to June 30, 1941, during the chaotic opening stages of Operation Barbarossa. In the early hours of June 28th, the 7th Rifle Division launches a counter attack under the cover of darkness to take back control of Brody. The 79th Panzergrenadier Regiment with support from the 2nd Panzer Regiment has begun to dig in and is ready to repel the attack. This mission has been fully revamped and remastered with lots of added polish if you remember playing the original version. This is a WIP, see the change notes to see what has been improved, fixed, or changed.

I personally recommend playing on the default AI numbers, as this mission uses a number of custom scripts (that work online as well.)

Finishing this mission after the rest of the campaign just makes you go back to the start , over and over again! For those interested in seeing how truly beautiful the recent map updates are - this is an amazing showcase. The use of terrain and detailed cover/concealment is something you just will not find in vanilla!

Deep consideration to the scale of this rework was taken and it has produced a bountiful playground for squad-on-squad action. Pacing is perfect so that the battle flows continuously even when designed at a smaller scale. It almost feels like the prize at the end of the campaign, the previous two missions offer complete relentless assaults that are wonderfully accompanied by this personal night battle.
