Description
Play as the first Pharaoh and Shahshanshah, Cambyses II; in Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

The Achaemenid Persians plotted to strike the Nile during the reign of Cyrus the Great, their progenitor. Fate however struck down the first Shashanshah before he could subdue the lands of Turan, the Great Steppe. Cyrus's son and successor, Cambyses II, would take up the cause of world domination by invading Egypt and becoming both Shah and Pharaoh. Persians ruled over Egypt in three different instance, twice under the Achaemenids and once under the Sasanids. The Persians were ineffectual in spreading the Iranian pantheon(s) nor Zoroastrianism, though their customs and cultures were often welcomed across the Levant. The legacy of Persian Egypt is one of militarisation, especially the need for a massive Mediterranean-worthy fleet, and of tolerance coupled with efficient taxation.

A steppe event is a long time coming and a long while away, @Nightmare576.

Mostly the Saph maps like Saph's Middle East and Mediterranean. A lot of your Civs already work on there but Saph doesn't update the map anymore as far as I know so the newer ones don't

You could find the X and Y coordinates of new maps in the world builder, @LT_MIM. There is a 'Maps' file that is easy to copy/edit. What maps are you playing? I always cover Firaxis and YnAEMP when appropriate.

Thanks for the great mod! I think your mods are the best Civ mods in the game for sure. I do enjoy playing TSL with them when I can, but the newer ones don't have TSL for the maps I usually play on. Do you know of any guides or do you know how I can add your civs to TSL through modding myself?

It's a hobby of creative experimentation through pre-existing code, @BritishTea.

Ok, yeah that's fair. The unique campus does seem immensely powerful assuming you start near a decently sized desert. I'll have to give it a shot and see how it feels.

Put out a hotfix to resolve all the Cambyses II variants not being identified as duplicate leaders. Original can be found on Nexus Mods.

Some things have to be kept noticeably weak so that other things can be blatantly strong, @Knoblauch. Something similar can be observed in Pomerania's very limited trait. Perso-Egypt's science, even if Cambyses II were not ruling, can be overwhelming as long as the civilization remains in its arid start bias. This civilization was easily thrice as strong just days before release; cities with a governor were to create a second naval melee class unit when produced. This did not work and was scrapped. I kept downsizing the civilization in favour of making Cambyses II the premiere naval and science leader of the ancient Levant.
