"A Forgotten Royal Returns!"
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!!!

This is no average fairytale princess, boys and girls...

Spoilt, sharp-tongued, a self-proclaimed princess of havoc... Wapeach stomps into the battlefield with a big crown full of ego and an arsenal that’s anything but elegant! Armed with explosive toys, a chomping pet and moves that scream “LOOK AT ME!”, she plays dirty, hits hard and always does it in style.

Get ready for this forgotten princess to take centre stage here in the crazy workshop landscape!

================================

Moveset Summary:
Neutral Special: Royal Armoury
Wapeach lobs a rotating arsenal of bombs in sequence, because why settle for one kind of chaos~?
Scorch Bomb: A weak, fast-fuse explosive that detonates instantly on contact with the ground. Great for quick pokes and pressure.
Lingerblossom: A slow-arcing bomb that slides along the ground before exploding. Perfect for stage control and trap setups.
Ruin Bomb: Heavy, slow, and dangerous. Bounces before going boom, and if it hits, it hurts!
Each throw cycles the next bomb in order. So, either keep track or let the madness fly.

Side Special: Bullet Bill Hammer
Wapeach revs up and unleashes a chargeable hammer bash powered by pure spite (and maybe a little Bullet Bill tech).
• She can cancel or dodge out mid-charge, saving progress unless she's interrupted.
No Charge: Short range and weak. Why even bother?
Mid Charge: Fast, decent range, good for pressure!
Full Charge: Wapeach gains soft armour and rockets even further forward!
Each ending in a dramatic slam that launches her skyward for any follow-up of your choosing.

Side Special (AIR): Diva Elbow
In the air, Wapeach ditches the hammer and goes full Wario-mode, slamming her elbow in a rising, diagonal arc.

Down Special: Pocket Chomp
Wapeach calls in her loyal pet Chain Chomp to lunge forward with a vicious snap in whatever direction she’s facing. But the real fun starts when she interacts with it, tossing a bomb or smacking it with her hammer ignites the Chomp, sending it into a fiery rage. While burning, it lunges with increased aggression and pulls enemies inward with its searing bite, setting up brutal follow-ups or sheer panic.

Up Special: Diva Cyclone
Launching herself into the air with sheer force, Wapeach spins like a whirlwind of heels and attitude, striking multiple times before finishing with a dramatic, high-impact blow.

And you! Well...

Watching people react to the April Fool’s Assist version of Wapeach was hilarious, yeah. Most didn’t realise I always planned to make her a full character. Some of you really need to chill.[holycrap.webcomic.ws]

I held off on her moveset at first because I wanted to see how the Mario fandom would shape her. If I hadn’t waited, this Wapeach would’ve turned out very different.

Anyways…

Wapeach is the property of Nintendo and Fumihide Aoki, and I have no affiliation with them. As of my knowledge, Wapeach is not officially 'recognised' as a character by Nintendo. Nevertheless, this is merely a fan project based on an existing IP with which I have no affiliation.

I think I've sorted the parry problem, but we'll see.

And hey, don't worry about that. I'd rather get something like this than nothing at all.
Quiet Ketsueki 8 Jun @ 5:02am
I feel there's a disconnect on what I mean with the parry part. Say that there's a stage with 3 levels on it.

Maypul's plant is on the top platform while the players are fighting on the bottom, no one's on the center platform. Zetterburn does his side special and Kragg parries it. Maypul's plant ends up in parry stun despite the fact that no one is around to trigger it and it hasn't attacked in the first place.

That's what I'm experiencing when playing with a friend (remote play/local play) in team battles when using her, and I don't get why it's a thing.

As for the rune, I guess I didn't feel too much of a difference with it vs without it? Because when I noticed that it didn't mean something like "3 hits in one charge", my next guess was that it affected wind up/end lag, but I couldn't tell too much even while spamming it. It's very likely this one could just be me though and I don't want to have you stressing over one random dude's claims on an otherwise well made character.
The Great G.B.A  [author] 8 Jun @ 2:44am
Yeah, when Maypul's plant attacks a player's parry, it goes into it's own stun state.

Are you sure? Because that rune has a quicker startup and less endlag, but it's weaker. Making it spamable in rune play.

Really? It seems to be working fine on my end, and I haven't heard anyone else mention any issues with that. There are two sound cues, one for the mid-charge and one for the full charge. If this is still a problem, I'll add a charge bar that appears underneath Wapeach in a later patch, either in training or normal play.
Quiet Ketsueki 8 Jun @ 2:09am
I don't recall Maypul's plant ever getting stunned because of a parried attack it wasn't apart of though (ex: Kragg parries Zetterburn's fireball, so Maypul's plant gets stunned??).

The runes I ask because one of them for example being turning her DStrong into "Tantrum City", yet there was no difference I could tell? While the reduced/removed endlag on her DAir is very noticeable, only slightly slower than Speedrunner Mario's at high speed.

And ok, so I've only been seeing her mid charge then since the audio plays but she only glows a soft orange/yellow, meaning that her full charge takes *a while* to charge then huh?
The Great G.B.A  [author] 8 Jun @ 12:21am
She has some runes that are available to pick while the rest are blank until later patches add them and so on.

The Chain Chomp getting stunned from parries follows how Maypul's Minion Plant gets stunned when it gets parried, so yes. Unless there's a hiccup going on.

The full charge for Wapeach would make her flicker back and forth with a specific colour. And the final charge has the fastest speed/distance compared to the other charge rates and grants temporary soft armour while spinning away.
Quiet Ketsueki 7 Jun @ 9:34pm
So, this is just a guess, but I'm assuming the "partial rune functions" means that some of her written ones don't work 100% yet or is it something else?

Otherwise, she feels fun to play/goof off with as someone who mains faster rushdown types. However, is it intentional that her Chain Chomp end up stunned when (anyone) gets a parry or is it only supposed to be if she herself or it gets parried? Playing with a friend has the AI parry her and the Chomp on the other side of the field gets stunned when no one is around it.

I can't tell with her side special also if I'm just not hearing it or otherwise if the charge is full or mid. I hear the Mario Kart countdown noise, but I can't figure if it's supposed to be the signifier for a full charge or mid charge (if it charges that fast). Mostly because the range feels the same between the 3 states in a match.

is a nice character very good !
The Great G.B.A  [author] 6 Jun @ 1:14am
Correct!
Lad 5 Jun @ 10:57pm
i think wapeach was a unused mario tennis character or something.
Dash 3 Jun @ 5:35pm
@The Great G.B.A Oh wow you actually changed the hit effect! I was more expecting her actual sprite to change than the effect itself (if you chose to add anything at all), but now that I think about it that would take probably far more work aha. Cool addition!
