Realistic Clothes

Description
Find the Perfect Fit!

Adds clothing sizes to Project Zomboid for a deeper and more realistic looting experience.
High tailoring skill lets you adjust clothes to your own body size.

1. Size System
Clothing now comes in 6 sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL.
Each size corresponds to a weight class: Emaciated, Very Underweight, Underweight, Normal, Overweight, Obese.
Not all clothing have size, but if you find an item that should have size but doesn't, comment below and I'll consider it.
Your current size appears on the Character screen, next to your weight.

Penalties for ill-fitting clothing:
  • Tight clothes take longer to wear and might be impossible to equip.
  • Tight clothes cause muscle soreness and slow post-exercise recovery.
  • Tight clothes have a higher chance of tearing when climbing fences or windows.
  • Tight pants and skirts cause stiffness in legs while running and sprinting
  • Loose clothes reduce insulation and combat speed.
  • Loose clothes increases the chance that you can trip after climbing fences
  • Loose pants/skirts may fall off if not secured with a belt.

2. Check Size
You can inspect clothes to see their size.
With low tailoring skill, you get a rough estimate: tight, loose, or perfect fit.
With high tailoring skill, you see the exact size.
Successful checks reward a small amount of tailoring XP.

3. Resize Clothes
With enough tailoring skill, you can resize clothes up or down by 1 size.
Requires proper tools and materials, and only some clothes can be resized.

Resize result:
  • Failure: clothing may lose condition.
  • Success: clothing may gain a bit of condition.
  • Success always grants tailoring XP.

4. Condition Decreases Over Time
Clothing will slowly lose condition over time.
Wet, dirty and bloody clothes will degrade faster.
Clothes with high wind resistance and water resistance can last longer.
Higher maintenance and tailoring help reduce the degrading rate.
You can increase condition by reconditioning them, similar to repairing weapons.
Some clothes can be reconditioned using just strips, for others, you will need a spare one.

Reconditioning mechanics:
  • Success chance and durability restored increase with Tailoring and Maintenance levels.
  • Failure can reduce condition.
  • Each recondition attempt lowers future success rate and amount restored.

5. Clothes crafting (B42 only)
B42 introduces some clothing items which can be crafted.
You can choose sizes of the output items in the crafting window beforehand (by clicking on the size tag).

Notes
  • This mod is based on Size Labels, with more added features.
  • Most features can be customized via sandbox settings.
  • Compatible with multiplayer and existing saves.
  • Should be compatible with all clothing mods. Just remember, not all clothes have size.
  • If you encounter bugs or want new features, please leave a comment

@JimG if you read the description for the mod you would have seen that size Large is the default for normal weight. Read the description and you will see how it works.

Do you have to use the nutrition system with this? I've noticed i have it turned off and it defaults my character to size Large. Is there any way of changing that?

i see, i have no problem with how fast they degrade i was just curious why i was getting that. thank you for clearing that up!

@LiterallyBeenVibing degrading speed depends on your tailoring, maintenance, clothes's water and wind resistance, bite, bullet, scrach defense, also wetness and dirtiness. Your problem is probably caused by low maintenance and tailoring. Also if you don't like how fast clothes degrades, you can increase MinDaysToDegrade in setting (for example to 120), it will still show rapid degrading, but it will last longer.\

This error was in the console.txt in the game's user folder, unfortunately the mod is not yet complete regarding compatibility with other clothing mods (there are several). It may work with zero errors or few errors only with vanilla clothes.

The error likely causing artifacts in zombie textures is related to a

java.lang.RuntimeException: unknown location "Pants_Skinny".

This error occurs when the game attempts to access a "Pants_Skinny" clothing item in an unknown location. The issue is related to how character-worn items are managed and rendered, specifically the

getWornItem functions.

Furthermore, the error appears to be linked to the "KATTAJ1 Clothes Core" and "Realistic Clothes" mods, suggesting an incompatibility or issue with these mods loading clothing textures, which could potentially affect zombies if they are wearing or attempting to display these items.
