[Prop] Overly-Expressive Portal 1 Cores

Finally, a proper port of the GameBanana mod of the same name, made by yours truly![gamebanana.com]


This addon only contains the base core model - it's not a spawnable NPC and there's no "_boss" or "_pile" variants like in the original mod - but it's been properly updated to avoid overriding mounted Portal 1/2 assets, and spiced up with some new customisation options!

For optimisation and compatibility purposes, the Portal 1 and Portal 2 eye textures are NOT bundled with this addon, so you'll need to mount Portal 1/Portal 2 to load their respective eye textures.

All other textures, including the Tintable eye variants, are included in this addon by default.

Wanna make the cores resemble the Portal 1 Morality Cores? Or revert their eyes back to their retail Portal 2 style?
Well, with the original GameBanana mod, you'd have to download different versions of the mod anytime you changed your preferences...

Not anymore! Now you can switch eye styles on-the-fly with the new "Eye Style bodygroup"!
Just c+right-click and switch! ^^



Speaking of switching variants, the Portal 1 and 2 cores are cool and all... but what if you want to make your own?

Well, you'd be happy to hear that this port comes with a new tintable eye skin (which is loaded by default when spawning the prop), making core customisation - and the creation of new Portal 1 core OCs - as easy as a single shot of the Colour tool!



Ideally this prop was intended to be posed using the Advanced Bone Tool addon, but what if you don't have the time (or patience) to faff around getting the pose right?

This port comes with the Portal 2 personality sphere animations bundled in, not only meaning you can use addons like the Easy Animation Tool to quickly pose/animate the model, but you also don't need Portal 2 mounted in order for the animations to load!





To those of you who commented on the mod page, asking for a Garry's Mod port, I'm sorry this took soo long.

I wanted to do more with this - like converting it into a ragdoll to make posing easier, or making the iris size a facial slider - but the fact it was taking me soo long to get stuff done (plus the fact somebody posted a barely usable reupload of my mod onto the Workshop with zero edits) just kinda stressed me into trying to get this out the door as soon as possible, additional enhancements be damned.
So... sorry, it took so long, but I hope this port is "good enough" for your expectations.
