More Kobolds! - Addon

In 1 collection by -Ordinique-
Kobolds expansion - vanilla+
2 items
Description
Have you ever felt that the ritual "Summon Elder Dragon" is kinda lacking? Unlike the "Summon Dragon" Ritual where you get a unique dragon for each koboldcolor, there is only 1 Dragon you get from the "Summon Elder Dragon" ritual. And he doesn't even represent half the colors! Kinda sad if you ask me. Anyway thats why I made this mod.

This standalone Addon adds 4 new (Elder) Dragons that can be summoned. Like in the previous mod, i tried my best to make the mod feel vanilla.

This mod adds the following units:

The Tempest Dragon: (white)
Maybe the weakest of the new dragons but also the most agressive. Can travel vast distances and will leave really often for a trip. And thus has the trait "amphibian" to stop the ai from drowning the dragon.

The Old Magma Dragon: (red)
Strong fire dragon. Sometimes leaves for small patrols.

The Blizzard Dragon: (blue)
Lazy but really tanky Dragon. Almost never leaves his lair.

Lindwurm: (green)
A controlable fake-dragon. Summoned in an Ancient Forest. Can only be summoned in spring. Strong unit and potentially the most controversial one. But I believe in this green snake.

I didnt want to make a cheap reskin so I gave the dragons some stat- cost- and personalty-variations.

This mod makes the faction slightly stronger, (primarely the Lindwurm) though not by much I hope.

Feedback is welcome!

Version 0.81:
nerfed the Lindwurm
200 -> 235 gold
40 -> 45 gems
3 -> 9 Turns summoning

Version 0.82:
To stop a player from spaming the Lindwurm, he now can only be summoned in the spring. With the current Actionpoint-cost you can now only get 1 Lindwurm a year. I believe that he is now balanced.

Version 0.83:
Adjusted the Lindwurm Tailattack from 20 ->15dmg
Increased the cost of the Mount Lindwurm Ritual 20 -> 35 Iron

Version 0.84: Quickfix removed the 20 Frostdrakes that were there for testing

Version 0.856: "Mount Lindwurm" ritual-cost adjusted.
35 iron -> 30 iron and 75 gold
Also some minor adjustments to unit descriptions.

V1.0
+ Slightly increased chance that the Magma dragon leaves his lair.
- The Black Elder Dragon idea was scraped. Didnt manage to make it feel vanilla.

The Tempest Dragon also has an additional Magic school that isn’t Stormmagic. I forgot the name of it but it has to do with the sun. And for me it made sense that a white elder dragon could also have some sun-related magic. (Cause he traveled to the sun and back in his curiosity)^^ He also doesn’t have the “greedy” trait cause in general his kind don’t get as old as the other dragons (cause they get into too much trouble) and his love for travel limits the interest he has in trinkets and makes him more open-minded.
Though I should probably write the lore into the unit descriptions:bbtcat:
Anyway, im glad you like the mod:chocola2:

I also wanted to add a bit more variation to the dragons. The make the Frost Elder Dragon just a bigger version of the normal dragon would be a bit lame I think.^^ So a gave each of them a bit of a twist. The Magmadragon for example has a claw-attack that deals magic damage. I got inspired by a light novel where a Maticore had himself made a glove out of silver (silver claws) to fight off vampires and I found it really cool and it made sense to me that a wise dragon might decide to hire someone to make him a specialized tool/weapon. :brothersword:

The same reason the Elder Dragon has illusionism 3 in the unmodded game.^^ I imagine Dragons to be wise creatures and I think they are capable of learning a trick or two in their 2000 years of existence. An old Blizzard Dragon will have learned the hard way that his frostmagic is not effective against certain of opponents (frostresistance is probably the most common resistance in the game) and I presumed that he would have searched for a way to deal with those kind of opponents – thus the Geomancy. I also thought that geomancy and frostmagic is a similar magicschool. Rocks are hard. Frozen Stuff is also hard you know^^

Hello, I was just wondering why the Blizzard Dragon has Geomancy instead of Frost Magic? Good expansion of the Kobold class!

No, you will still need to activate the mod. Its standalone. You will probably have to close the game and wait for the workshop modds to install. Then it should appear as a separate mod^^

If I'm subscribed; does this just modify "More Kobolds" that i currently have? I don't see "More Kobolds Addon" on my list of mods in game

The younger dragon searching for a new mine when an elder dragon appears also happens in my modless games so think it was a new change in the guildmaster patch
