The module has been updated and fixed for 4.0.
Its worked for me :) Unless the paradox has updated the code, it will continue to work(Ignore the outdated version warning).

The shipset should be fixed,tnanks a lot ~@alankraskow

notes:
Ship textures like Juggernaut may be missing, I searched the original model but couldn't find it (please give me some advice,keyword Juggernaut basically never appears) .
Anyway,enjoy it ~

@Asidian I got some good collection of revived portraits, but they are only visible for friends on my workshop, as I didn't wanted to go trough the hassle of asking for permissions and just creating the collection selectively.

I have on my disc plenty of elves portraits that I will be adding to that collection at some point. I've send you friend request, so you can access them if you want. Search for COLLECTION OF SPECIES PORTRAITS - Private

@Noobosaur I know what you mean; I checked out the original mod(the great Secrets Beyond The Gates), but oddly I didn't find any texture files for juggernaut (maybe I missed it); and there are a lot of cool textures and models in this amazing work (like the stellarborn versions of think tank )

I’m at a loss for words to express my gratitude. I’m so unbelievably happy someone finally did this! You’ve single-handedly saved my love for Stellaris. I practically abandoned the game after Paradox completely butchered the portraits with their cyborg DLC. It felt like a punch to the gut. I knew the portrait issue could be fixed somehow, but my modding skills just weren’t up to the task. Damn it, I wasted countless hours and days trying to learn Stellaris modding, but my brain just couldn’t crack it all I could do was rage helplessly at Paradox. Until now. These are my favorite species portraits I’m utterly obsessed with roleplaying space elves and can’t bring myself to play any other race. A thousand thanks again, words can’t capture how thrilled I am… and I pray Paradox won’t break the portraits all over again.:Gifting::Gifting::Gifting:

@GAULT.57 The ships look very cool, avian shipset is already good by itself but the stellarborne version is just amazing, There is a slight problem however, the coloring of the juggernaut is buggy. Its Black and blue instead of white and gold except the weapon parts.

@GAULT.57 you mean portraits_sets and portrait_categories?
These are the main reason most of the portrait mods are broken.
I have restored more than half of the ones available on the Workshop, but since it would be too depleting to ask original authors for permissions, I made a private collection (which I'm still expanding) so if you like portraits and want to gain access to them, you can send me a friend request cuz it's set to friends only.

@alankraskow Thank you! finally solved the problem after knowing where to do the comparison.btw when I took over the file, the definition of race(3files) was missing, so it took me a while to figure out what was going on.:D:

@GAULT.57 the thing with ships appearing as Bioships is an easy fix. It's defined in common/graphical_culture, when you open vanilla files and compare to those from the mod you will see a section there that defines ship_kinds, you just have to copy and paste the whole section from one of normal shipsets to those in your mod.
