Drone Signals

Description


This mod introduces 'realistic' signal behavior for all drones. Your connection to a drone is now affected by signal quality, which is dynamically calculated based on distance, terrain, and any objects or buildings obstructing the line of sight.

Poor signal will lead to degraded controls and video feed—adding a new layer of immersion and challenge to drone operations. If the connection is completely lost, you’ll be disconnected from the drone and unable to regain control until the signal is restored.

The system works out of the box for all drones, with all aspects fully configurable via CBA Settings.

@Patty - Deleting it and it not being removed doesn't seem right, the logic searches for nearby entities so if the entity doesn't exist it should never return the jammer to the logic. Similarly if considered not alive or damage >= 95%.

@Turnip How exactly does one turn off the Jammers? I got a signal tower setup which jams drones but destroying or deleting it wont remove the jamming effect.

@TechnoTroglodyte have you modified your cba settings? If so it may be not formatted correctly/missing some brackets.

@_mickey_, ouch, I appreciate the feedback, I'm still learning I guess! Pushing a fix shortly, just hadn't retested the retranslators after refactoring the code/functions.

@Turnip, do you even understand what you're doing? Or are you learning how to make mods? I personally don't know how to make mods for Arma3, so I don't make them...

How to use this mod without errors, I have no idea. I tried to run this mod three times and each time, I get a massive spam of various errors. Now after the update (25 june), I still had hope that it would work without errors, but I was wrong. As soon as the assembled drone appeared in the game, I have again error message:
