Bring Back Directly Controlled Investment Pool

In 1 collection by ⑧ ҠƗ₱ɗєҠƗ₱.ᵉˣᵉ [⇄]
Victoria 3 - Essentials for Masala Chai 1.9.7
22 items
Description
Take back full control over your construction just like the Directly Controlled Investment Pool setting that was removed in 1.7

This is a mod that goes on top of Cooperative Ownership Disables Investment Pool to apply its effects to all laws.

Privatization still works as expected and companies can still expand though means other than construction. (Use monopolies to force companies to increase their building levels.) With 1.9 the Investment Pool now has enough mechanics stapled to it to support fully disabling all Investment Pool construction without locking you out of any ownership type.

Achievement Compatible.

This mod overrides:
Nothing! Always compatible.
Made with version 1.9.6 in mind but should work with any 1.9.* version.

Load Order
You can safely place this anywhere in the load order it doesn't matter if it's before or after Cooperative Ownership Disables Investment Pool.

感谢作者,解决了我的大难题,非常优秀的mod。然而本模组似乎和Morgenröte - Dawn of Flavor冲突了,会导致艺术学院丢失生产方式,请求作者使他们兼容,非常感谢。
Thank you to the author for solving my big problem with an excellent mod. However, this mod seems to conflict with Morgenr ö te Dawn of Flavor, which could lead to the loss of production methods in the art academy. These mods are very important to me, and I look forward to and request the author to make them compatible. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for the explanation :D (and also for the other one in the other mod xD)
I did some testing with your words in mind and now i got it!

@Draco Pendragon© Companies are dependent on your construction and can only grab new buildings you build. You'd use privatization so they can expand without a monopoly but Command Economy is the only law that disables the privatization button completely. With Command Economy you are forced to use monopolies to get companies to expand.

Im a little confused about how this is gonna work exactly, if i switch to command economy the companies will still be able to expand right?
And how does monopolies affect them exactly? Do i NEED to give them monopolies or will they expand even without them, no matter which economic law i have?

ahh i think it worked upon initial testing. Thanks!

@Polka Simply add it to the can_build_private section (or create one if it doesn't exist) in every file in common/buildings like how it's been done here: https://github.com/EIGHTFINITE/no_cooperative_ownership_investment_pool/blob/main/no_cooperative_ownership_investment_pool/common/buildings/zx_no_cooperative_ownership_investment_pool_urban_center.txt#L24-L39

If you're creating a new mod to replace things then make sure that's loaded after everything else, if you're editing the files instead then make sure there aren't more copies of that same building in your load order elsewhere. (And know that the workshop files get overwritten each time a mod updates.)

can it be done in such a way that when i as the player build something the money for that is taken from the investment pool?
Polka 23 Jun @ 10:23am
do you know how I would go about making this mod compatible with buildings added by other mods? Such as one I use, qunxings' Factory Expansion ( only industry ), I understand one needs to change the can_build_private but nothing I tried so far worked :winter2019joyfultearsyul:

@legionaer20 If you're looking to benefit from this as a player but have the AI keep their Investment Pool you're probably best of with only Cooperative Ownership Disables Investment Pool without this mod stapled on top of it. (That mod was created just to fix some bugs and the one flavor fail I found with Cooperative Ownership.)

@legionaer20 That's intentional and works the same for both the player and the AI.

The AI still expands it just doesn't have Investment Pool construction exactly like the old Directly Controlled Investment Pool setting.

Funds still need to exist in the Investment Pool for privatization to function and I don't want to change the numbers on construction allocation or investment since it'll drastically alter game balance.

Any reasonably sized country will have a filled up Investment Pool to privatize buildings automatically (which now finally feels responsive) and I'm happy with how that functions.
