Age Progression Customization

In 1 collection by JNR
JNR's Enhanced Legacies

Description
Adds game setup options for customizing Age Progression from Future Tech and Future Civic, Legacy Milestones, and player eliminations, including the option to remove dynamic age length entirely.

With constant age length, the end of the age becomes more predictable and can no longer be gamed (e.g. by unslotting Codices, ending turns with Shift+Enter to avoid Future Tech triggering progression, etc.), therefore freeing players from optimizing the fun out of their game. Further, crises always play out in full length and cannot be skipped over by achieving milestones rapidly.

Features

Premade configurations are available as well as a "Custom" option to tweak components individually, similar to how Difficulty can be adjusted with advanced settings. The following options are available:
  • Balanced: Age Progression from ALL players researching Future Tech and Future Civic instead of just human players.
  • Standard: default unmodded settings (this means only human players add Age Progression by researching Future Tech and Future Civic).
  • Milestones: Removes Age Progression from Future Tech and Future Civic.
  • Constant: Age Progression only from turns, removing all other causes of Age Progression. The total age length is adjusted.
  • Custom: Opens three advanced settings to fine-tune your experience: Progress from Future Tech/Civic, Progress from Player Elimination, and Progress from Legacy Milestones.

If any setting is chosen where Legacy Milestones lo longer add Age Progression, the total age length will be adjusted to simulate a high average of milestone completions. The calendar is adjusted accordingly so that if "Long" ages are chosen, there will be no gap years between ages anymore. In this adjustment, the Exploration and Modern age will be shorter than the Antiquity age. I plan to add more customization options for this aspect in the future.

Thank you! Is it possible to have an option to enjoy the age longer? Or to do some sort of stopping an age?

No, this is not a full era stop mod.

Use "Long" age setting to get a 200 turn antiquity age.

I don't know what to do to make the "Classical Era" last for 200 or more turns. I only realized halfway through that there were only about 150 turns.

If you find yourself too far ahead, try out the "Abbreviated" age length setting. Legacy milestones in the antiquity age would normally add up to a max. extra progress of 80. Choosing the "Constant" age progression setting reduces the age length by 40. Setting the age length to Abbreviated reduces it by another 40.

Really fun in combination with the purchasable wildcards mod, but you can end up way too far ahead and the end of the age dozens of turns away when all the progression is turned off.
