interesting!

Thank you! Is it possible to have an option to enjoy the age longer? Or to do some sort of stopping an age?
JNR  [author] 23 Jul @ 6:01am
No, this is not a full era stop mod.
BalHaine 23 Jul @ 5:24am
This mod stop era ?
JNR  [author] 22 Jul @ 6:49pm
Use "Long" age setting to get a 200 turn antiquity age.

I don't know what to do to make the "Classical Era" last for 200 or more turns. I only realized halfway through that there were only about 150 turns.

nice mod ty

@JNR: good to know, thanks, I will try this out :)

If you find yourself too far ahead, try out the "Abbreviated" age length setting. Legacy milestones in the antiquity age would normally add up to a max. extra progress of 80. Choosing the "Constant" age progression setting reduces the age length by 40. Setting the age length to Abbreviated reduces it by another 40.

Really fun in combination with the purchasable wildcards mod, but you can end up way too far ahead and the end of the age dozens of turns away when all the progression is turned off.

It's in addition.

Question: Is this an addition to the existing options of "lengthening" or "abbreviating" ages, or do they supplant them?
So, taking myself as an example: I do like to play on online-speed with standard ages, but they often end to abruptly for my taste. Though "lengthening" them just leads to me completing every legacy path and completing both the tech and the civics tree. I'd like something in between. Is your mod designed for such customization :)?

@mW3 - I have been using JNR's earlier mod from civfanatics for months, and I can assure you it works as designed and described, removing all the age progress from future tech and civic. It is now part of this expanded mod.

Your intemperate, inaccurate, post , in which you slandered JNR with a wrongful accusation of dishonesty, is objectively offensive in both tone and content. You ought to publicly apologise and withdraw it forthwith.
JNR  [author] 26 Jun @ 3:04pm
@Dave Yes, read the description on the legacy screen or in your civ's ability. Mongolia gains military legacy points differently.
JNR  [author] 26 Jun @ 3:04pm
@mW3 I tried replicating what you did and it did not add any age progress for me. Neither did completing a milestone. It remained at 1/160 for me. Maybe you accidentally advanced to the next turn when testing?

Also, there is no need to be so rude with your tone. I am not aware of such issue and had no intention of being dishonest, if there is one, thanks for letting me know. I am not a professional dev and have limited capacity for QA, there's always a chance something slips through and at the end of the day, modding is a community effort.
Dave1029 26 Jun @ 3:00pm
Oh. Yes. I'm assuming that's a quirk of the civilization then?
JNR  [author] 26 Jun @ 2:56pm
Dave are you playing Mongolia?
Dave1029 26 Jun @ 11:38am
The military progression for exploration age is bugged. Distant land settlements only provide 1 point and religion/conquering does not increase yields. Constant setting.
mW3 26 Jun @ 10:31am
Your description is wrong and misleading. You cannot prevent the contributions of these events to the age progression. The minimum is 1, also if you set it to 0 in your mod. So please be honest and test your mod correctly.

One simple way to prove your assumption is incorrect:

1. Create a new game with your disabled settings for future tech. (Age Progression == 1/160)
2. Use a Cheat Mod to research future tech. (Age Progression == 2/160)

You can see the raw age progression points in the tooltip of the age progression percentage on the top left.

I have started playing with this mod and am really happy, but I was wondering if there is a way to lock the transitions of ages so the player can decide when to transition. Essentially I want to play an antiquity only game, have all the other benefits of progressing culture, economy, etc, but want to stay in the antiquity age. Likewise I can see myself, with some civs, wanting to stop in the exploration age.
Not sure if it's possible, not a modder myself, just wondering. Otherwise really love this mod.

This needs to be officially in the game. Fixes a lot of the age system in one go.
WeDGE 25 Jun @ 8:59am
yea, like the policy yield preview mod for example
JNR  [author] 25 Jun @ 7:27am
I've had a mod removing the progress from Future Tech / Civic on CivFanatics almost since the beginning, but it's now incorporated here with a lot more options!

(this is just my plea to check out CivFanatics because not all mods are here yet and you might be missing out on other cool stuff)

Awesome, ty, trying next game! I've wanted something like this since day 1, days of shift-enter are over.
