[DHM]Hybrid-Powered Gravships

Description
2025.07.24-

Now, you can choose electric or chemfuel, and also can select which use first.

📦 [DHM] Hybrid-Powered Gravships

Gravships no longer rely solely on chemfuel. Now, they can draw power directly from fuel tanks or batteries.

🔹 Overview
This mod upgrades the functionality of the Grav Engine by enabling it to use electric power as an alternative to chemfuel. Gravships now operate on a hybrid system, drawing energy directly from fuel tanks or batteries.

🔧 Features
⚡ Hybrid fuel system: Supports chemfuel, electric power, or both.

🔌 Prioritizes chemfuel; when chemfuel is low or unavailable, batteries are used instead.

🔍 Details
The grav engine will prioritize chemfuel first.

If chemfuel is insufficient or absent, it will consume stored power from batteries connected to the grav engine.

🧩 Compatibility

✅ Compatible with all DLCs.

🧪 Tested on RimWorld 1.6.

💡 Notes
For efficient hybrid operation, it is recommended to build a stable power grid and place batteries around the engine.

This mod does not modify vanilla defs directly; all changes are applied via patches to maximize compatibility.

This mod alters in-game translations, so some terms may be changed.

* Now when installing batteries or powertanks, it is compatible with all batteries added to the mod via the connected power grid.

* It operates normally even without a chemfuel tank.

Please add solar panels that attach to walls like the ones from SOS2.

Everything is working. In mode settings just choose - electricity over fuel. And thats all.

Would you consider adding a higher-tech version of the battery with better efficiency, maybe linked to the Advanced Battery research project from Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Power (or just advanced space tech)? Sounds like a nice thematic fit :-).

This happened after the main patch for the game — my ship got stuck in space without fuel :(
Oh, those hopes for new technologies!

for some reason the ship is not accepting the batteries as fuel

Fixed it thank you!
@FirePlox I re arranged some of the mods where the hybrid mod is one of the top ones. I also uninstalled and reinstalled small tanks.

FYI, the tooltip in the mod menu concerning battery-to-fuel conversion is misleading. It claims that "higher numbers mean batteries provide more fuel per energy stored", although it's actually the opposite - the lower you set the number, the less power the ship draws from the batteries, making the whole thing more efficient. Now that I've finally tested and confirmed this, the mod has gotten even more enjoyable :-).
