what is the battery called ?
ObviouslyEvil 3 hours ago
@cathode the scug There is a mod for solar panel gravship hulls
Cathode the scug 4 Aug @ 3:57pm
Please add solar panels that attach to walls like the ones from SOS2.
KernelQueue 31 Jul @ 2:00am
Interesting concept, great job
Peryn [Андрій] 30 Jul @ 11:01pm
Everything is working. In mode settings just choose - electricity over fuel. And thats all.
Sumatris 30 Jul @ 9:35pm
Would you consider adding a higher-tech version of the battery with better efficiency, maybe linked to the Advanced Battery research project from Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Power (or just advanced space tech)? Sounds like a nice thematic fit :-).
Drilled_Head  [author] 30 Jul @ 1:49am
kimono: I will update soon.
Perennial: I will patch soon. Please wait
Peryn [Андрій] 30 Jul @ 1:14am
This happened after the main patch for the game — my ship got stuck in space without fuel :(
Oh, those hopes for new technologies!
koimono 29 Jul @ 11:50pm
for some reason the ship is not accepting the batteries as fuel

littlejaybro 28 Jul @ 8:12pm
Fixed it thank you!
@FirePlox I re arranged some of the mods where the hybrid mod is one of the top ones. I also uninstalled and reinstalled small tanks.
Sumatris 28 Jul @ 12:42pm
FYI, the tooltip in the mod menu concerning battery-to-fuel conversion is misleading. It claims that "higher numbers mean batteries provide more fuel per energy stored", although it's actually the opposite - the lower you set the number, the less power the ship draws from the batteries, making the whole thing more efficient. Now that I've finally tested and confirmed this, the mod has gotten even more enjoyable :-).
thesoupiest 28 Jul @ 7:43am
I love this mod, but 120 steel for a 24000 Wd battery is just too good
Sumatris 28 Jul @ 3:50am
@Drilled_Head: Yeah, sorry for the stupid question. As usual, I found the answer on my own right after I asked the question -.- .
FirePlox 28 Jul @ 2:47am
@littlejaybro same here. Did you find a solution for this problem?
Drilled_Head  [author] 27 Jul @ 10:25pm
littlejaybro : If you have other mods that modify gravengine, this will most likely not work. If not, try deleting my mod and reinstalling it.
littlejaybro 27 Jul @ 8:16pm
Sorry let me rephrase, my power tanks cannot connect to the grav engine even while the power tank is next to the grav engine. I'm not sure if I am doing it correctly or if I have a mod affecting this mode.
StockSounds 27 Jul @ 6:31pm
What are the thrusters for then?
Torkkar 27 Jul @ 6:25pm
stockSounds your not verry well versed in Scifi if your applying modern knowlage to a ship thats described as a GRAVSHIP, Grav as in GRAVITY and the core of this ship is the GRAV-ENGINE. now extrapolating on that word our first use of Gravity engines describes them as using electricity to power their systems to produce an anti-gravity field. Assuming Rimworlds Grav Engines work off this idea then all that chemfuel is being used to generate Electrical power.

so why not skip the middle man and power the ship with electricity?
Drilled_Head  [author] 27 Jul @ 6:19pm
Sumatra: go to mod setting
Torkkar : thx
littlejaybro : my mod is not supported engine to connect wiring. May be, did you using another mod for wiring engine mod?
littlejaybro 27 Jul @ 2:38pm
Not sure if it got mentioned before but my power tanks are not connecting to the grav engines. I have my wires connected straight to it and running off of nuclear as well as being on a space platform.
Torkkar 27 Jul @ 1:16pm
TY dude your a god
StockSounds 27 Jul @ 10:03am
How do you launch a ship with electricity? You need to expend tangible fuel out the thrusters because you can't use motors and fans in the vacuum of space.
....🤓
Sumatris 27 Jul @ 8:32am
Wouldn't it make more sense to give the battery priority over the chemfuel? That's how real-life hybrids work after all, and it's also the much more sustainable approach since recharging a battery is much easier in this game than refueling a tank, especially in space. Please consider switching these priorities around.
Drilled_Head  [author] 27 Jul @ 7:37am
Torkkar : fixed
Torkkar 26 Jul @ 11:44am
could you add a text field addition to the sliders in mod options? the sliders are so imprecise for getting the values I'm trying to adjust too.

Zo_Confuzled : Use generator mod.
Zo_Confuzled 26 Jul @ 12:12am
Hey. I love the mod but i was wondering wether there is a way to speed up battery charge? I use nuclear so i have plenty of energy and batteries but they charge sooo slow...
VelxraTV 24 Jul @ 11:14pm
I have wanted this mod since day one. These are effectively capacitors and it makes sense launching would use a ton of energy.

This effectively means we can have a space ship without it being effectively a space steam train. Which this aligns much more with SOS2 that I eagerly await for in 1.6.
Drilled_Head  [author] 24 Jul @ 6:10am
Wrathful Spectator : fixed.
Tolarian : now you can select
Divinewrath : thx
Tolarian 23 Jul @ 11:34pm
I don`t understand this mod. Why do i need batteries if i have a full loaded power engine? And why does it take chemfuel first over electricity, which is cheaper and easier to get?
Divinewrath 21 Jul @ 3:08pm
FYI this mod is incompatible with Vanilla Chemfuel Expanded - Odyssey Patch which allows you to use Vanilla Expanded pipes and chemfuel tanks to launch the ship. That mod is located at
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3530583255

Thanks for your mod, its so good I removed the Vanilla Chemfuel Expanded - Odyssey Patch mod!
Wrathful Spectator 20 Jul @ 5:37am
Love the mod, is there a way that reduce the number of info logs in the debug? It's rapidly reaching the max message limit.
Filipino Goku 19 Jul @ 11:23pm
Thank you for adding the mod option for changing the efficiency of electric fuel!
Drilled_Head  [author] 19 Jul @ 10:57pm
QWETTRE : Did you read the instructions? You only need to install one power tank. It is compatible with any battery that is connected to the power tank by a wire.
QWETTRE 19 Jul @ 10:41pm
The electric propulsion system offers extremely limited utility. Despite sacrificing significantly more space compared to chemfuel storage tanks and enduring lengthy charging times to utilize these batteries, the resulting range increase is only a paltry fraction of what chemfuel propulsion provides. The ship's power needs can be fully addressed by a few generators and some chemfuel, without requiring these massive battery banks that could be depleted during a single short voyage. It would be far more beneficial if compatibility with other high-capacity battery mods were added, or if a new, electricity-exclusive but vastly more efficient thruster were introduced. Otherwise, trading a huge amount of a starship's precious space for such minimal range gains is simply not a worthwhile trade-off.
NirvanaCat 19 Jul @ 9:44pm
天才般的点子:steamthumbsup::steamthumbsup:,有自定义选项后更舒适了。如果能设置使用优先级就更完美了。
saibher 19 Jul @ 9:44pm
should the new hybrid power tank use components to craft like regular batteries?
Prophet 19 Jul @ 5:09pm
kurwffle: the thrusters only use chemfuel
this mod makes it so they can use electricity instead
kurwaffle 19 Jul @ 4:13pm
I’m confused. I already use Solar, batteries, and chemfuel for my gravship. What is the difference?
Drilled_Head  [author] 19 Jul @ 3:11pm
koimono : Install a regular battery or a power bank, and connect the battery added by the mod. adjacent location or connect with a wire.
Drilled_Head  [author] 19 Jul @ 3:09pm
Kowhaifan : First of all, your calculation is wrong. Electricity is obviously less efficient than chemical fuels. Second, electricity is electricity, so why should it only be used as fuel? I don't understand. Is there such a thing as electricity that can only be used as fuel? Third, the electricity cost compared to chemical fuels is 222.2f. Recalculate.
Drilled_Head  [author] 19 Jul @ 3:03pm
XXXII : Mod option added.
忘道人 : Yes.
Dollarstore_ramen : Mod option added.

DOY the mod
Rob The Robot Guard 19 Jul @ 8:56am
The gravship battery building this mod adds does not work on the linux version of rimworld. i even cross referenced with windows and the said building appeared within the build menu. If you need logs i can provide them
Kowhaifan 19 Jul @ 7:29am
the amount of Wd (watt days) you need to be equivalent to one small chemfuel tank is 54,552 ([11/2400]/250) btw, so you could round it to 55k. The amount needed to be equivalent to one large chemfuel tank is 163655 ([11/2400]/750) Wd, i'll leave rounding that one to you lmao.

btw, dont know if this is a bug but the first power tank is a flat 1000 Wd to 1 fuel conversion rate (being a total of 24 fuel), but any subsequent power tanks are 2181.82 Wd to 1 fuel (being a total of 11 fuel). I dont really know why this happens or whether its intended or not, i just assumed it was intended in my calculations.
Kowhaifan 19 Jul @ 6:54am
maybe if you wanna keep the realism, you could make it have an option to make it so the energy fuel tank can store a power equivalent to 250 fuel, but can ONLY be used as fuel, not as normal power? then its still realistic (you require the same amount of fuel), but not completely unfeasible (i can not have half my shit be batteries), and still fair (you cant use it as a huge, cheap battery, since the power can only be used for the engines).
Kowhaifan 19 Jul @ 6:40am
nice mod, but dear god its so bad to use power. like it takes 10 fully charged power tanks (24k watts!) just to move TWELVE TILES! its SO BAD. One small chemfuel tank can move you 25 whole tiles, like its a really good mod works perfectly but DAMN being literally 95% worse is a bit much, could you make it adjustable???

good mod though, a big battery that is 3x3 (like the big chemfuel tank) would be nice if you feel like adding it.
