In 1983, Austie sent a spy to the Grey Falcon R&D Department to acquire knowledge on their newest upcoming models. in the process however, the spy acquired key knowledge on serious fraud committed by grey falcon's CEO. Using this, they blackmailed GF into giving them the rights to modify the new Sundial platform in whatever way they see fit and sell it in Europe. in 1987, the CEO of GF was found out and ousted, replaced by a new CEO. due to the age of the sundial, they pulled it from production, with Austie following suit as they had been drawing up concepts for a new platform (ensuring karma does not come their way by not allowing new employees near it.)

TRIVIA:

The van was born out of a need for money. Flat broke after pouring all their money into the FXV, Austie decided to appeal to the market of budget tradesmen in order to drum up some cash. nicknamed the "Tradie Brick", the UW-D became a hit within workign class communities. One notable event occured when john silksworth, notable explorer and car enthusiast, used a UW-D to traverse the australian wilderness. In his words, "It's the simplest yet breakest little brick you'll ever see. Simply nothing can kill that thing."

The UW-D was fitted with a much more sensible 2.2L Diesel Inline 4, with plenty of torque to make up for its lacking performance. A turbo model was planned, but low demand for the product killed it off from teh get-go.
