The torpedos as well as the periscope scopes and torpedo crane logic are kindly provided by Markas workshop items. Check out his hyper realistic version of the VIIC if you dare. Cheers mate!

This sub also contains additional works, by GuntherDiez.

What is this *again*?

This is a new upload of my older remod of the VIIC. Since I remade most of the boat, the hull, interior layout, ballast tanks, weight and control systems as well as steering and other blocks, I decided to reupload this as a seperate file, so everyone can choose what he prefers.

Steering is now no longer a helm station but via the two buttons near the depth rudders, realism!.

Added in a working map (just to look at inside the boat for immersion)
Added a morse light atop the periscope to communicate via lightsignals
Rearanged some of the interior layout and added in a retractable table in the crew berthings to more resemble a proper submarine from that time (still not by any means right).
Crush depth added, do not go below 230m, or else your boat will be squished.
New lightmodes, day/night light (white/blue) and red light mode.

This boat is a modded version so you should need the listed mods on the side, because several buttons and decorations are added in from https://www.nexusmods.com/stormworksbuildandrescue/mods/29 as well as https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2519256549

If you have not added them already, you should get errors, missing items/blocks and not working equipment, test at your own peril.

The major difference in diving here is the depth hold system which was the work from GuntherDiez and I take no credit for it.

The depth hold works like this:

go inside the sub via the conning tower and down into the command area. Directly to your right is a depth control station. Both "Tiefenruder Hydraulikventil" as well as "Ballast Hauptsteuerung" should already be on and your ballast tanks filled to the appropriate amount. In order to set your depth, just use the throttle lever besides the depth rudders. 9.5-10 meters is perfect for operation of the main periscope and 6.30-7ish for the snorkel to work and support the disel engines with air if deployed.

If you want to directly adjust your depth, just deactivate the Hydraulikventil and control the depth via the main depth rudder station hotkeys.

If you have problems lowering the periscope(s)...you are propably too fast.

If you dive and had your diesel engine running, it will fail if you go below your snorkel limit and the batteries kick in. There is a dial in the control room (green fluorescent dial) to check the charge level. If you resurface and fire the diesel back up, it will start up again and load the batteries.

The torpedon'ts

The torpedo tubes can be flooded in the torpedo room, opened and fired there to, nothing special. The whole system was replaced again with Markas torpedos and crane operation system. The new torpedos have mixed capabilities. Some are guided torpedos, fire in a general direction and forget and the others need to be fired precicely at the targets. They can be set up (FAT MODE on the torpedo back) to go into a search pattern at a certain distance so you get the chance to still hit something with them. Further info with Markas torpedo workshop link further up.

Reloading them is straightforward but tricky if you want to reload the upper tubes. Try what works for you with the several cranes and holders in place and if you need to be fast, just reload the the lower tubes, it is way faster :). After shooting, close the outer hatch(es) and wait till the pumps removed all the water (or at least down to around ~800).

Draining a tube takes some time, you can use the compressed air to blow them out faster.

Don't forget about the rear facing torpedo, if you are beeing chased.

Most gear is hidden in cabinets and there are some additional gimmicks. While the boat is not as ultra realistic in technical functionality, much care was taken to make the feel of the interior aimed at what such a sub would have looked like during the second world war.

Translated several main buttons to make using the sub easier for all anglo-saxons here. ^^

Enjoy and gute Fahrt Kamerad!

Enjoy! Also if you all never want to bother with activating needed mods, you can just go to the mod folders (copy folderpath ingame) and copy all the files into the appropriate folders in the main game folder. Now you can just start up the game without using mods and have them at the ready, even for your currently running games.
