Description
See sounds with visual indicators
This is the B42 fix for the original mod written by Mori "pew".

Report any unexpected behaviour in the comments, with steps to reproduce.




Effect
🔊 View multiple sounds simultaneously
Visual indicators show the type, direction and approximate distance of sounds and in the case of zombies if they are banging on stuff.

Traits
Visual indicators are affected by your character traits as follows
  • Keen Hearing : 20% increase of detection radius
  • Hard of Hearing : 20% decrease of detection radius
  • Deaf : self explanatory

Options
  • There's a new tab in the options where you can configure the types of sounds to display.
  • You can enable different game modes to enable the indicators in certain situations.
  • You can adjust the max number of visual cues processed which can affect performance and visual clutter.

Compatibility
✅ Compatible with "bandits" mod. (detected as zombies)

Known Issues
🟨 If you die and create a new character to respawn with: The mod will work after 1 in-game minute.

Last Update
Fixed a bug where opening the options menu would create an error.

There is an awful issue in the core game where a sprinting zombie, heck ANY zombie produces no sound running/walking - only their grunts. This means you can be caught if a sprinter sprints at your back without it's screams. Obviously this is stupid and should be fixed, but does your mod work to show footsteps?

Super excited for this mod to be ported to B42... but it might be bugged for me?. Whenever I approach the river in Riverside, my game freezes. After uninstalling this mod, I was able to approach the river without the game freezing up. Possibly river/fish sounds doing something bad? Dunno.
