Hebrew Unit Pack

Description
A collection of Hebrew and Israeli unit models!

Pack contains:
  • Hebrew Warrior
  • Hebrew Slinger
  • Hebrew Archer
  • Hebrew Horseman
  • Hebrew Composite Bowman
These units are based on Bakuel's beautiful units for Civilization IV! The Hebrew Horseman and Composite Bowman are by Wolfdog, not me.
These units are intended as a modding resource: anyone may download this mod and use the units in it for their mods. The only requirement is that you mention me and Wolfdog in your mod's credit list.
If enabled, the mod will replace certain units in the game with their Hebrew/Israeli equivalents. It will not change gameplay, just the appearances of the units. Sample art defines are included in the mod. No art is provided other than the unit models and textures.
The Hebrew Slinger requires the Spain & Inca DLC. The Hebrew Composite Bowman requires the Gods & Kings expansion.
If you have trouble downloading this pack, here is an alternate download[forums.civfanatics.com].

There are more Hebrew and Israeli units planned: next are the Hebrew Swordsman, Spearman, Knight, and Worker.

Maybe? I wouldn't try it though, because it replaces the models for the units of all civs.

Very cool, are these compatible with R.E.D?

Happy to be of assistance.

Always take SQLite Manager over the game files, as the tables in the Manager are what mods affect.

@Civitar
I was using SQLite Manager, and was quite confused that the game files weren't matching up with the tables... I never considered that the game files were wrong!
Colonialist Legacies was helpful to me, but I'm still thanking you for pointing this out to me.

I wasn't joking, I was telling. Glad it helped you.
For help with sound, you'll find this [forums.civfanatics.com] tutorial to be the most helpful, and it has links to another regarding adding leader music as well. Look at the Colonialist Legacies mods code to see DoM audio in action.

In general though, SQLite Manager [addons.mozilla.org] is best to see the proper tables for modding Civ5 (or another database viewer). With most civ tables it's ok to use the base game XML as a template but you never know.

@Civitar
I bet that when you made a joke about the Civ XML being useless for sound as well, you'd never be doing something constructive.
It had never occured to me that that might be the reason why my DoMs weren't working. Hell, you deserve an award or something! Thanks for greatly expanding my modding understanding in less than an hour!

Ah yes, the base civ XML is no good for artdefines, or sound defines.

There is no ETA for the worker or anything else - they'll get done whenever I happen to do them. At this time I'm mainly working on models for my Warhammer Fantasy mod, and other more generic fantasy models such as Elves and Undead - though I've also done a Gondor Unit Pack you can find on Steam.

@Civitar
Do we have an ETA for the worker texture? It's just occured to me that I could use it, and it would be nice to know whether I should wait for it, or if it's months away.

@Civitar
Thanks for that link! Turns out I was barking up the complete wrong tree, looking at the actual civ files. It's a good job Civ's got a decent modding community, for when Firaxis forget to explain how things work!

Good luck!
