Pull up problem is caused by turret, and the fact that things on top of the rotor is calculated like another ship.
Actually, a may put more thrusters with sensors, but they will be exposed to enemy fire, so I chose the other variant.
It may work near buildings, sensor field is a thin straight line that read the terrain below and corrects the altitude. Sensors are configured to react to asteroid, stations and big ships.

Also, I can recommend you to try my Moonlight hoover, which is easy and fun to pilot, there is no problem with pull up and so on. One thing - the main thruster may be too powerfull.
