NanoWeld (30X Weld) [WIP -Ver. 1.0 ]

Description
--- This mod is a work in progress, please use and report any issues so that I may create a solid high area welder--

Despite it's name, this actually welds a very large radius.

At least 30X more than a normal welder radius, in the package of a regular welder. (Costs more)

Was looking for a large welder for some time decided to make my own.

I hope it helps you

i will improve the quality and features as time goes on and i learn more about modding SE

Known Issues:

Priorities:

-Conveyor ports do not line up making this unusable in survival (SORRY!!!)
-G Screen/Toolbar Icon graphic is missing
-Cost may be too cheap for survival (This will changed to be 30X higher than vanilla)

Future Plans:
-Too many in one place will lock up the game if you are not careful
-Create variant model

Can you provide a image of the welder? I

Welder doesn't weld any better than a normal welder. Press F11 in game and check the "debug draw" option, then turn the welder on. The red sphere you will see if the build area of the welder.

Debug screen also reports a "missing resource" in your mod.

Indeed it varies, but i guess it's mostly when the damage % goes down enough to destroy a component (as in the build). For example, the light armor block will only need more steel plates when it goes below 99%, which corresponds to the destruction of 1 steel plate (although i dunno how it will affect the "scrap metal"), but for it to get below 99% corresponds to A LOT of deformation due to how the system works.

Hmm. didn't know that, do you know at what point damage starts requiring actual components to build? I guess it would vary per block. I'm still trying to wrap my head around a way I could avoid killing the player in survival, I have an idea, but it's gonna require testing on my part, I'll try to work on it this weekend

Indeed you can't BUILD in survival without components, but you can repair hull dents (deformations) without them. That is what i meant, so you would still need to put components in through some other method (player/ship welder) and this would just speed up the process of actually welding/repairing.

Hey @biomech, that was the direction I wanted to take. Not sure if I can weld in survival without components and therefore conveyors. Right now player damage is done through the hardcoded collision box that makes up the welder area. Not sure if I can mod that right now, I'm looking into it though.

If i may make a suggestion (and if it isn't too complicated for you current modding skills), i'd like to request a version of this as a simple 1x1x1 block (large or small, preferrably both) without conveyor ports, no player damage area and 30x weld radius, to be used as a ship auto-repair module, mainly to repair bumps in the hull (dented armour blocks). Maybe have another with conveyor ports and higher cost that is 1x1x1 large and 3x3x3 small (small ship large conveyor sized), when you do get those ports working. Looking forward to this.

I am still working on the block. Having a bit of trouble with the conveyor ports. Thank you for your patience!

No worries, I will work on that connector issue.

This is my first mod, your patience with me learning the ins and out of modding this game is appreciated greatly.
