Description
Adds two more unique component to the Confederacy: The Rifled Cannon and the Pistol-armed Cavalry

For use with (3UC) and (4UC):
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=392162444
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=415349082

Requires Kramer's Confederate States civilization:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=393541100

The Rifled Cannon is stronger than a regular cannon against ground and naval troops. The Pistol-armed Cavalry is stronger than regular cavalry.

These components are adapted variations from the Firaxis Civil War scenario.

There appears to be a bug where the Confederacy gets "Garrison Artillery" instead of Rifled Cannon.

The Confederacy now has components for the 3UC and 4UC.

Fair enough. You seem to know your Civil War history. I might make a different component in the future.

And as James McPherson points out in "Ordeal by Fire" (p214) while by the end of the war about half of the Union artillery was rifled only about one third of Confederate artillery was. And as made previously clear, thoe were captured Union pieces. So while the CSA was able to make less than 3000 pieces, almost all smooth bores, the Union created almost 8000.

Look, I'm not saying you shouldn't create an additional advantage unit for the CSA mods, but artillery was the weakest of the Confederate arms categories and I think a cavalry unit, 'a raider' type unit, would be more accurate.

The Brooke rifle article only serves to proves my point. The best the CSA could do was manage a handful of pieces, many of those with casting flaws and some converted from Union Dahlgrens. And discounting the pieces that were not actual field pieces; that is, they were defense siege pieces, or the few naval pieces, the number becomes so small as to be totally inconsequential. Perhaps you should link to the article on field artillery:

And pay particular attention to the "History and organization" section.
