PFS - CVD - Phoenix II Drone Carrier

In 1 collection by Lord Commissar
Phoenix Fleet Systems
34 items
Description
Update 3/22/15 - Added Oxygen systems. Note that there are a few locations throughout the ship where there is no oxygen or oxygen is sporadic. This is due to the collision of the catwalks in the catwalks mod, which apparently do not allow oxygen to flow through, even though they should.

Another mod has been added to the mod list for the oxygen systems, Which you can find here.

The Phoenix II is the next generation of the Phoenix Battleship, having been re-purposed into a Drone Control ship and re-fit with the latest technologies. It retains its role as the flagship of the Phoenix fleet, and is host to Admiralty staff and facilities. As a flagship, it can also serve as a somewhat diplomatic vessel, and therefore was designed with comfort in mind for many of its facilities.

The Phoenix II is also one of the safest Phoenix ships, with even the windows having dual layers of armor. Within the engineering areas, each section is separated by internal airlocks, should any engines or reactors have gas leaks, or be destroyed entirely - leaving an empty vacuum. It also has a higher amount of security personnel than most other ships, as well as an armory for the crew to repel boarders.

The Phoenix II was designed to operate all models of the Ghost series of drones. It can carry up to 20 Drones, and control them via both standard and laser antennae. For laser antennae, it has full coverage in almost every direction, especially in the front. In this way, it was designed to send command drones on ahead up to the maximum range of 30km, where it can relay commands to other drones within 5km of those command drones. Alternatively, it can use only standard antennae, of which it has multiple, and act as a short range drone controller up to 5km. In this respect, it is able to bring both its powerful armor and weaponry to bear on the enemy.

---------------------------------------------------

All hangars connectors are numbered. There are 2 hangars in the head, and 2 hangars in the neck.

The hangars in the head are known as Forward Port Hangar and Forward Starboard Hangar. There are 4 Connectors in each, numbered 1-4, with 1 being closer to the bow and 4 closer to the rear exit of these hangars.

The neck hangars are known as Port Hangar and Starboard Hangar. These hangar numbers can be seen clearly via the LCD screens. 1-6 are the Port Hangars (again with 1 being closer to the head and 6 closer to the stern), 7-12 are the Starboard Hangars.

Each Hangar has a connector, a camera with which to view the drone that is attempting to dock, and a switch for a manual unlock/lock of the connector.

------------------------------------------------------

The Phoenix II has a color coding on several doors and ladders to help you navigate:

Red - Reactor Room
Orange - Engineering
Blue - Bridge
Dark Blue - Officer Quarters
Light Green - Crew Quarters/Mess Hall
Purple - Medical
Black - Exit/Airlocks - while there are many airlocks throughout the ship (mainly the engineering sections), a Black door means that there is *Guarantee* of their being a Vacuum on the other side. Other Airlocks are simple precautions.
