Description
Highway Intersection to R/C/I Grid. Highway on/off-loading should cause minimal traffic issues. Traffic within grid is extremely efficient. Works with any zoning; Residential, Commercial and Industrial (inc. high density, offices, etc)!

It can handle insane loads and can be expanded modularly. To expand simply remove the edges of the grid, expand in any direction you wish, then put back one-way outer lanes (mind to keep same directional flow).

INSTRUCTIONS(!!!): Consider this a small template - AFTER you plop it down you need to expand the grid to whatever size you want! You need to make the grid large enough for the "economy of scale" to kick in.

Please watch the video attached to see how you can expand the grid easily.

ATTENTION: The minimal version of my "Highway Intersection to Grid" allows easier placement and customization.

All the freeway traffic crams into a single lane (all traffic routes) when going past. This is all through traffic yet all routes collapse down to a single lane which causes *massive* traffic jams.

The problem is that traffic (enter from highway) joins exit traffic at intersections. You should look for reddit post by Mitchells00 (something like that) and look for a way to split your inbound traffic and outbound so they do not join. Once traffic gets onto this grid, it does disperse well enough, but the actual intersections where they get off highway is totally clogged at all times.

This is on any city pop 60k+ and I am sure anyone who would use this doesn't plan on staying beneath 20k population to minimize the mess. Utility Vehicles also have a hard time here.

I solved the traffic problem that works for me.
I saw that the first 1-3 intersection stops the whole entering traffic (as it was in a screenshot down in one of the previous comment). The cars are not using the inner 3-4 lanes to bypass. Every car using the 2 outermost lanes even if they are going to the end of the region. So I bypassed these intersections:
I replaced the 2 6-lane incoming road with 3 simple one way road. The middle one-way road has the first intersection about at the middle of the area. It let the traffic flows directly into the middle of the area without interruption (intersection)

it handles a way more traffic than the 6 lane roads.
+ a little cheat: I added an exit at the end of the area to suck the traffic away.

Berious: Happy to hear it! :D Yep, it's meant to be expanded.

Solved my traffic problems, I've found you can expand the grid much wider and longer without problems.

The green lines show which roads will travel _to_ the hospital. Not which roads the ambulances will use. City services will go as far as they need to in order to do their job

The green indication doesn't actually show what a service can physically reach, a service vehicle will often travel across town in fact! It's a common misconception about C:S currently :) The green on the road shows the buildings that will get a modifier for being "serviced".

It's certainly a downside to the design that all buildings won't get service modifiers, however they are getting service if you place service buildings on the top loop.

If you put all the services on the top of the grid can they reach ALL of the grid? Because in your tutorial video it doesn't seem that the service cars can reach the farthest streets. The hospital for example only greens the first and second streets. It's a great design nevertheless

:( :( i am trying to remember if its because of this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=407335588&searchtext= (no despawn mod cars) . I can't remember if i saved the game or not..before disabling it... because in an older version.. if you saved a game while its enabled.. and then u exit, disable the mod, load ur game it still permanently "despawn" lol.

doy: Perhaps if you posted your save game somewhere online I could download it and have a look? :)
