Description
This is my personal homemade modpack for the "Eternum Void (Extreme survival!)" Dedicated server.
Becouse after hours of searching and experimenting with someone else's mod's I finaly came to the conclusion:
F*ck it! I'm gonna do it myself! =D
So here it is! Free for everyone to use, modify & of course share with the universe ^_^

This modpack contains the following modifications:
  • Exploration spawns Changed to 1/20th of vanilla.
  • Skybox:
    -Pitch black skybox with no light & realistic shadows.
    (Tnx to Seuss & DJ Arghlex for the inspiration!)
    -Fog black & enabled 700m to 900m.
  • Maximum speed & turn velocity is increased to 1250m/s. (Fast enough...)
  • Removed all turret lasers.
  • Removed visible "cone of light" from charakter.
  • Solarpanels:
    -Renamed the solarpanel to: Solarpanel Retrofit for Radiationto work with the story of Eternum Void.
    -Both Solarpanels output max. 1/4 of the original. (becouse read the line above)
    -Small solarpanel cost increased by 4 solarcells. (from 16 to 20)
    -Large solarpanel cost increased by 11 solarcells. (from 64 to 75)
    -Building time on realistic increased.
    (small takes 50 seconds & Large 60 seconds instead of 40)
  • Cargoships:
    -Changes the frequency of cargoship spawns & adjusted spawn timer.
    -Renamed the cargoships to match the story of Eternum Void.
    -Decreased the spawn movement speed to 10m/s to make boarding easier. (less clipping when hacking)
  • Meteorite showers will be rare. (time increased from 5min to 120/160min)
  • Changed respawnship names to match the story of Eternum Void.
  • Thrusters:
    -Changed the Thrusters to: "Ion Thrusters Small & Large" and modified visuals to match.
    -Exaust "flame" shortend to visualise the ion jet from a real ion thruster engine.
    -Idle ion thruster has a dark, blue & calm visual. (tnx to Corodius for the inspiration!)
    -Full load ion thruster has a bright, blinding almost white jet.
    -Adjusted visuals for each of the 4 blocks seperate for the best looks. :)
  • Spotlights: (retrofitted the spotlights to feel upgraded for use in an absolute dark environment)
    -Renamed the spotlight to: Searchlight (retrofit)
    -Removed the "cone of light".
    -Upgraded light radius of small spotlight max. to 100m & 10m default.
    -Upgraded light radius of large spotlight max. to 500m & 100m default.
    -Locked the falloff on 3. (If no light shows click somewhere in the falloff to set to 3)
    -Changed intensity default to 3.
    -Changed build times: (small from 7 sec. to 30 sec. & large from 20 sec. to 1 min.)
    -Modified building cost of the small spotlight.
    -->Added 1x bullet proof glass, 1x large steel tube & 3x construction component.
    -Modified building cost of the large spotlight.
    -->Added 1x bullet proof glass, 2x steel plate & 12x construction component.
    -Both Spotlights have their max power-requirement increased to 100x vanilla for balance.
  • Added Upgraded Sensor block (new block same as vanilla).
    -Small Upgraded Sensor block:
    --Range increased from 50m to 500m
    --Build time from 20s to 60s
    --Changed amount of Detector components & Radiocommunication Components x 5 (from 6 to 30)
    -Large Upgraded Sensor block:
    --Range increased from 50m to 1000m
    --Build time from 20s to 60s
    --Changed amount of Detector components & Radiocommunication Components x 10 (from 6 to 60)

I will update this modpack when i see fit for the server, view the change notes for the modifications.
Any requests can be posted in the steamgroup (and no I'm not an advanced modder...yet..)

Hey yeah im doin well! The modpack will still have to wait untill dedicated servers are a working thing. atm i am running a simple survival world and it does not run stable enough to be a eternum void.. unless you wanna start over every day xD
so i am waiting for the networking to be stable enough to be actually playable with no massive bugs etc.

Yup BIG (ok..ok. small) Badass black holes. however their radios is so huge you should be able to detect them from a distance. it will however be a ship-wrecking mechanic (think about 100+g at event horizon) but i will also try to implement radar like mechanics. there are a lot of mods that basically make a radar like function. i might even make a block(combination) that will make radar possible so navigation in the dark will be more like a hardcore survival adventure rader than playing russian rulette with your ship.

One of the things i need to figure out how to disable is the show sensor range option.
This because when you place antenna and enable that option you basically light up everything in the radius (50km?) and all the ships, asteroids etc become black spots. (basically breaking the core game mechanic...

Any help or advice would be usefull :)

ATM just waiting for the devs to fix most bugs and netcode implementation aswell as admospheric effects.

You mentioned black holes? Oh wow. I played on a pitch black server for just a day or two well over a year ago (maybe it was even your one?), and it was scary enough with just asteroids around. xD

Sounds cool though. I think I'll subscribe to this just to keep it around for checking back on. A lot of these tweeks seem well thought out for pitch black play. I found it all a bit too much trying to cope in the dark last time, but a lot of little changes to the game such as GPS, as well as things like the sensor and spotlight tweeks here, would make it a lot more managable.

I still wonder if anyone ever found the small base and stealth fighter I left abandoned in the dark. :v

Will there be only the skybox as a seperate workshop entry? Would be nice, because many of the modpack contents aren't my kind of taste.
