Description
Durban (Zulu: eThekwini, from itheku meaning 'bay/lagoon') is the largest city in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal. Durban is famous for being the busiest port in South Africa and Africa. It is also seen as one of the major centres of tourism because of the city's warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches.

The modern city of Durban dates from 1824, when a party of 25 men under British Lieutenant F. G. Farewell arrived from the Cape Colony and established a settlement on the northern shore of the Bay of Natal, near today's Farewell Square. Accompanying Farewell was an adventurer named Henry Francis Fynn. Fynn was able to befriend the Zulu King Shaka by helping him to recover from a stab wound he suffered in battle. As a token of Shaka's gratitude, he granted Fynn a 50 km strip of coast 160 km in depth.

During a meeting of 35 European residents in Fynn's territory on 23 June 1835, it was decided to build a capital town and name it "d'Urban" after Sir Benjamin d'Urban, then governor of the Cape Colony.

- 123K trees used.
- All connections except for 1 road.
- All types of resources.
- Relative flat near the beaches on the coast, more challenging canyons and gorges inland.
- I recommend using a 25-tile mod.

That is because the harbour was built on sand banks that constantly submerged during high tides so they reclaimed the land. one island still remains and constantly needs dredging.

The really square looking water bay is a little odd (The one that shows in the second to last screenshot), but otherwise looks like a good map, going to try out.

It should also be noted that as a temporary fix I can bulldoze the building that's flooded and a different one will pop up that doesn't have the problem, so I wonder if different buildings have different levels to them?

Also @Olsvik, that's a great idea running the freeway across the bay like that. I may steal that idea as my city expands!

Yeah I tested it out a bit and I got it aswell in the same spot but I cant really tell why it's happening. The waters seems calm enough in the harbour and I can't detect any flooding taking place around it and there's no watersources nearby. I'll look into it and see what I can do.

I am having the same flooding problem, looks like in the same area as shaunathan.
It seems to be a very small area that is affected because as in my screenshots, when I move the firestation to the other side of the road there is no flooding/

@1Runar - Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. I'm using no mods to edit terrain so these are your default levels. I'm just building a city and suddenly there's a flooding problem right in the middle far away from water.
