Magic Fire Pit

Description
An extremely simple mod that changes the Endothermic Fire and Endothermic Fire Pit to be Magic recipes rather than Science, because a fire that absorbs heat rather than generating it is clearly some kind of witchcraft. The recipe required to create them is also slightly changed.

Endothermic Fire: Prestihatitator to prototype, 6 log, 4 ice
Endothermic Fire Pit: Shadow Manipulator to prototype, 10 ice, 12 stone, 2 blue gem

This also has a fringe benefit of making the magic machines more useful, as you can otherwise get by without them.

Realistically I don't expect many people to be interested in this, I just designed this for my own server.

the witchcraft part isn't true, it's actually an endothermic reaction (who would've guessed). an endothermic process is a process that absorbs energy from its surroundings, usually heat, and in the case of this fire, making the surrounding area colder

You should add config to choose how much log, ice, stone, blue gem, nitre, or cut grass you should need to craft these fires and at which magic station you can craft them, if they burn ice, nitre, and/or normal burnables, and if there should be an insanity aura.

Good idea! Could you possibly remove nitre as fuel and add ice and blue gems as fuel? Maybe also have a slight insanity aura? Config would be nice

its an exothermic reaction between to chemicals that takes in heat energy

even so it doesn't have to be a "fire" it can be a vapor of water from the cold even!
Face 21 Jul, 2015 @ 8:54pm
that probably sounded stupid but please try
Face 21 Jul, 2015 @ 8:54pm
then how about make a new model and make the cold "fire" a small (dug hole for fire tank for fire pit) of dry ice/liquid nitrogen/giant cold pack?

The "witchcraft" portion is that it's a fire that removes heat. While chemical reactions that absorb heat exist, combustion exclusively releases heat. The concept of a "cold flame" simply doesn't exist.

i dont want to insult but, i cringed when i read "witchcraft" because it isn't. but i don't want to explain how it isn't because im lazy and i can't remember completely. :p well all im gonna explain is i know that it works by two chemicals mixing and taking more energy to generate less. something like that i damn forgot don't question me dang it!

Ever had one of those instant cold packs? An endothermic reaction can readily cool you down. If you want realisem, maybe make the endothermic fire enclosed. Since you can burn a fire to more or less directly reduce heat, with the right sort of heat exchange machine.
