This mod allows you to craft a collar to summon a versatile hound companion to help you in combat.

Craftables:

(All items are in the magic tab!)
Heavy Collar - This collar summons a Denmother.
Collar - Craft this, then drop it on the ground to summon your very own hound!
Nightmare Treat - A crazy snack to shift your hound into the shadow world...

*In order to craft the hound collar, you need to summon a Denmother into the world and feed it either a morsel or a piece of meat. Doing so will grant access to the collar recipe for thirty seconds.

Mobs:

>Denmother - A stationary creature that holds open the rift between the hound dimension and this one. If two of them are in close proximity to each other, they will wage war until one of them falls. Feeding her a large meat will...excite her...eventually causing her to produce a puppy. The time it takes to generate a puppy is random. Feeding her a morsel does nothing on it's own, but feeding either type of meat will grant access to crafting a hound's collar for a short time.

>Koko - The true name of the hound companions! These have a generally high health and a decent regeneration, but aren't invincible! Be careful which battles you choose. She can transform into several different forms, listed below. She can also be brushed every couple days for some ash.
-Ice: Feed Koko a blue gem to give her a defensive boost, raising her health and regeneration capabilities to become a super tank. She's slightly fire resistant here as well. Offense gets a slight boost.
-Fire: Feed Koko a red gem to give her an offensive boost, raising her damage and attack rate. She also becomes fire immune in this form. Defense gets a slight boost.
-Nightmare: Feeding Koko several Nightmare Treats to turn her into a shadowy creature. In this state she becomes a devastating attacker, dealing even more damage than fire Koko. Her defensive capabilities are somewhat weaker than her fire state, but she also becomes fireproof and provites a medium sanity drain.
-Golden: Occasionally, a full moon will bless one of the world's hounds with golden fur.

>Lana - Puppies! If you feed Koko some morsels and wait long enough, she'll have adorable little companions of her own following her around. Given all the hounds summoned through the collar-portals are female, it's not exactly clear how this happens...But who cares! Look at how adorable they are! And no, you can't eat them. You monster. They take 20 in-game days to grow into full hounds. (Note: Puppies will not grow up in worlds where night is turned off.)

Ritual of revival:

Occasionally, one of your hounds can drop a broken collar on death. This collar can be used to 'revive' your pet, bringing them back from the hound dimension. They will retain their transformations that they had prior to death, and will for the most part be as good as new! Currently, all you need to do is drop the broken collar to bring back your old friend, but broken collars will not always drop so don't count on them!

Config options:
Hound Regen - How fast your hounds heal. Affects both adults and puppies.
Hound Health - How much max health your hounds have. Affects both adults and puppies.
Puppy Power - A simple multiplier that scales hound stats while they're a puppy to make them weaker.
Easy Collars - Changes the crafting recipe for collars, and can remove the need to have a denmother.

>Things to feed your hounds:
-Blue gems will turn Koko into a frost hound.
-Red gems will turn Koko into a fire hound.
-Nightmare treats will turn Koko into a nightmare hound after a few feedings.
-Large meats will force Koko to keep their current master until the next server reset.
-Small meats will encourage Koko to have a puppy. Feeding her more will increase the chances each night that she'll bring forth an adorable little bird-chasing monster.
-Papyrus can rename Koko and her friends into another random name from the pre-generated list, in case you didn't like their first one for whatever reason.

>Things that can be 'fed' to hounds but are currently in development:
-[BETA]Purple gems will be refused, but will set a patrol point to Koko's current location.
-[BETA]Monster meat will command Koko to run the patrol path set by the purple gems given to her in order. After the patrol route is finished she will return to her normal behavior.

A also made a kitty companion mod, if you're more of a cat lover. Of course, you could always just have both. ;P
Fair warning though, the kitties act somewhat like actual cats and may prove to be slightly annoying as a result.

Will this mod get an update to fix the nightmare and Golden dog? Understandable if not because you know 3 years since the last change

Unsure, I've not tested them much with boats but haven't ever had that happen. This mod was made before boats were a thing, so their ability to swim at all is based entirely on the vanilla hounds. Presumably, either Klei updated it in a way that broke the mod's connection to the hound brain or vanilla hounds are also bugged when following you on a boat. (They do that with year of the varg whistles.)

yeah, they jump out the water, the problem is when im in a boat, they randomly jump out of the boat and they get stuck, they dont move to any direction, i get close to them to they can jump onto the boat, but they dont do, they dont move, dont attack, dont jump, anything, even if i restart the game they will be always stuck in the ocean

They should jump out of the water to follow you, like a normal hound. As for the sounds, I've tried fixing it a few times but don't have much time anymore to keep at it, unfortunately.

Sumoned Hound does not have any sound effect when it takes damage and bites coompared to hostile hounds. Why there are no sounds ? Can this be fixed ?

Bro your mod is amazing, but i have a question, idk if is a problem with mod or ir because i touch something in the config, but the hounds dont follow me to the caves, there´s some way to make the hounds follow me to the caves?
