Update: 4 Dec, 2020 @ 10:08pm

-Removed the recipe for nightmare treats due to nightmare hounds being temporarily removed.

Update: 4 Dec, 2020 @ 10:05pm

-Fixed hound sprites to no longer have missing ears/eyes.
-Hounds are now amphibious.
-Nightmare hounds, gold hounds, and [REDACTED] have been disabled due to sprite conflicts. They will be transformed into normal hounds in worlds where they exist.

Update: 4 Dec, 2020 @ 8:12am

-Changed lana's growth to count up every two minutes, rather than at start of night. This should fix lana not growing on nightless worlds.
-Lana no longer prioritizes staying near their mother above attacking. This lets them chase birds again.
-Added config to change how long until Lana grows up.
-By default, Lana now grows up in 20 days instead of 19.

Update: 18 Nov, 2020 @ 8:57am

Tweaked the hound brains so that they prioritize staying near their owner, rather than continue fighting. They should immediately stop fighting if you run off now.

Update: 10 Dec, 2018 @ 1:51pm

>Added a new config option to alter the crafting recipes.
-You can set it to the old way of crafting, which could be made anywhere.
-Leave it on the new crafting method, (default) which requires you feed a denmother to access.
-Set it to a cheaper set of recipes, halving the cost of both collars and removing glommer goop from the hound collar.

Update: 16 Nov, 2018 @ 5:18am

-Removed inspect description change on puppy turning into a normal hound.
-Cleaned up Denmother's Brain.
-Changed Denmother to have ObstaclePhysics. (She can't be moved now!)
-Removed the denmother's "Open" animation. Functionality is still there.
-Gave denmother a dedicated StateGraph.
-Hounds no longer follow the Denmother.
-Allowed Denmother to accept cooked foods.
-Denmother can now be fed morsels.
-Hound collar now requires the "puppycrafter" tag to craft, but no longer needs a prototyper.
-Successfully feeding the Denmother will grant the "puppycrafter" tag for 30 seconds.

Heavy collar is craftable again, allowing you to summon a Denmother. Doing so, then feeding her morsels or meats are how you get hounds. If you feed her large meat, you can get a puppy and have to wait for it to grow up. But either way lets you craft a collar for a short time, letting you summon a fully grown hound like you've been able to do.

Update: 15 Mar, 2018 @ 10:28am

Fixed gamebreaking bug caused by the year of the varg event. Huzzah!

Update: 24 Jan, 2018 @ 12:09am

I've reworked Denmother's purpose from a babysitter to a sort of puppy crafting station. Providing a token of appeasement (Feeding it a piece of meat at the moment) will grant the player with the ability to craft special hound items for a short duration, as well as furthering the Denmother's own needs/wants.

The current plan for progression is as follows:
-Heavy collar will need to be crafted with an alchemy engine.
-Place the heavy collar a bit away from your base to summon a Denmother.
-Appease the Denmother to be granted knowledge of how to summon your own hound friends.
-You may now craft a collar to summon your own pet hound as normal, as well as breeding your own army as normal.
-Gems will no longer be feedable to hounds, instead you will use special runes to transform them.
-Runes are crafted by appeasing the Denmother to unlock the recipe, same as the hound collars.

The Denmother will keep the resources you give her within her own inventory, using it to summon her own persistant minions to exert her will on her surrounding. This can be used to go to war with other nearby Denmothers or to fend off any threats to mama, including pesky players who tire of her usefulness.

It'll take a while before all of this can be implemented, especially given I can't currently work on the mod consistently given it's a free project I poke at in my spare time. But there's the plan for now, it's liable to change in the future if I want to do something differently for whatever reason. Oh, also the Denmother is probably going to be redesigned to have legs. Probably. Unsure about that one. :3

Update: 5 Dec, 2017 @ 6:14am

-Hounds that aren't fed will only follow the nearest player for a limited amount of time. After this, they will lose the will to continue following for around three seconds. When this happens, they have the potential to switch leaders. Fed hounds will not exhibit this behavior.
-Idle hounds will now wander around aimlessly.
-Broken collars now remember hound sizes, types, and names.
-Hounds now drop ash when brushed instead of bearger fur tufts.

Update: 23 Oct, 2017 @ 12:29pm

-Rebalanced puppy statistics to match the rebalanced hound statistics. (Puppies still regenerate at 1/10th the rate)
-Added new config option for the puppy nerf. By default they have half the fully grown version's max health and damage, but it can be changed from 10%-100% of hound stats. This is also affected by your config for buffing fully grown hounds!
-Nightmare treat now gives 50 hunger instead of 35. In case you need an emergency food and don't mind the penalties.
-Broken collars sometimes drop from slain hounds. Can be used to revive a hound of the same type.
-Heavy collar crafting temporarily disabled while Denmother gets a rework.
-Hounds only change masters when being fed large meats or when they have no master.
-Tweaked hound and denmother brains a bit.
