GnaR DeI 1.05 Battle Submod

Description
A lot of changes has been applied to this submod since initial release. Each of the submods do their thing, which may improve your experience with DeI as much as it did for me.

BATTLE SUB-MOD

If you want faster battles but like to have some sense of solidity in your battle lines -- some time to glance at units up-close on some favorable occasions, but would not want to spend an hour fighting a battle you know you'd win, this is the sub-mod for you.

The dials has been turn so that melee, missile, and cavalry work together harmoniously at a certain say "faster" pace.

1. Missiles are not overpowered, but they are useful. They slow down units, do a bit of morale damage, weaken defense, and decreases attack stats.

2. Pilum and Javelins has a knock-back effect, and have good kill rates. They can disrupt formations. They have their velocities reduced, so they act more naturally. Their range has been adjusted slightly.

3. Arrows are in the middle ground, and slings have the highest range fastest reload, but not much killing power. Lead bullets does the biggest damage of the three types of sling bullets of course.

3a. Overall, Missiles are still dangerous, but shields will block them, distance matters, and direction of attack as always. Missiles do a slight reduction on missile protection, so a unit bombarded by multiple missile troops will have some reduced missile protection, slowed down, and needs only a good charge to break them into a route. This is hard to pull off though.

4. Unit experience develops unit attack skills more than defense, and accuracy kicks in much later but the accuracy bonus is worth it. Keep training your missile troops and they'll be deadly.

5. Melee is faster in this mod compared to vanilla DeI. Unit quality will determine if your lines will be rolled over quickly or not. It's much closer to Vanilla Emperor, only slightly varied due to certain stats DeI has put in.

6. Morale damage from rear and flank attacks has been increased, as well as penalties, in terms of combat, has also been increased slightly. Certain morale tweaks have also been applied to balance these flanking and rear attacks. If your unit is winning, why run even when surrounded?

7. Movement has been increased slightly (10%), and terrain modifiers to movement has been changed slightly to make units move more naturally. Slight changes to charge related data has also been modified slightly.

Overall, battles will be a lot shorter. Probably a maximum of 25 minutes, and average of 18 minutes. I'm currently satisfied with it, with an exception of not being able to cause chain routes. This part I still need to dig through and test how to accomplish successfully.

good mod. but like all the others in chat i say the same PLS update this mod, units are invisable event at close range and units take too long to do real damage to each other...

Thanks very much for making this - any chance of an update - in DEI without this submod i keep charging hoplite units that are already engaged by my hoplites to the front with heavy cavalry and elephants in their backs - they still don't rout.

Any version that makes battles just a bit longer somewhere between 30 min to 40 min?
