Small Garrison Rework

Description
[SORRY OLD MOD, PLEASE USE OTHER GARRISON MODS. I DON'T HAVE TIME TO IMPROVE IT ANY FURTHER OR MAKE IT WORK BETTER WITH THE CURRENT GAME RELEASE.
FEEL FREE TO STILL USE MY GERMANIC SPEARMEN HOTFIX MOD]

I started this mod to fix the Germanic garrison problem of "Germanic Levy" units not converting in proper number to "Germanic Spearmen" and "Germanic Spear masters" later on. Afterwards I added all inconsistencies and bugs I could find regarding garrisons. Only Roman and Germanic factions are affected.


Added "Exploratores" back like they were before the patch for ERE and WRE (1 in total for all city levels). "Praeventores" are still listed as garrisons.

1 "Sagittarii" was missing in level 1 cities of ERE and are now back. They still have 1 less "Sagittarii" than WRE for the other city levels 2-5.



Rework of Garrison mechanic for ERE and WRE:

Since ERE has no chance of ulterior garrisons in minor cities I added 1 unit of garrison too all military buildings from level 2. To compensate WRE got a public order +1 for every military building level. Level 4 got +5 public order in total.

ERE Military buildings in detail:

1 balistarii for lvl2 Range
1 limitanei for lvl2 Barracks
1 dalmate for lvl 2 Cavarly Quaters

1 balistarii and 1 sagitarii for lvl3 Range
2 limitanei for lvl 3 Barracks
1 dalmate and 1 contarii for lvl 3 Cavarly Quaters

Cavarly Quaters Level 4 gives the normal garrison + 2 good quality units
Barracks Level 4 gives the normal garrison
Range Level 4 gives the normal garrison


WRE Military buildings in detail:

LvL 1 +1 public order
LvL 2 +2 public order
LvL 3 +3 public order + 1 unit garrison dependign on typ of building
LvL 4 +5 public order

This is NOT one of those Double Garrison mods which give tons of units; it's just a try to fix what CA missed in my eyes. All changes I made are added to the description, no hidden surprises. Let me know if there are other stuff missing regarding garrisons I may add it to the list.

I think Maximus idea below makes more sense, also the larger cities could be just given a militia,peasants or vigiles

Hi, I have an idea:
-Garrison only in the capital of the province.
-no garrison in minor cities, unless they have guardhouse or level 3.
Is there a mod that does this?

My take: good first try at garrisons as it fixes a few stupid omissions that CA still hasn't fixed. It can help a few. The author has many other great mods. Try out some more recent garrison mods if you are starting a new game.

Indeed this mod had problems, I intended to improve it futher but I didnt change it in 3 years. So sorry if it isnt very good in a garrison poin of view. But I understand what u ment its poorly programmed I admit that. I already intended to delete it, I wont keep it updated and will add the notification not supported in the description. Im very proud of the rest of my mods but this one wasnt ever finished and was more like and alpha.

nothing it's just that I need to click "update" after any little patch so the launcher doesnt say "out of date". It does still work exactly as before and is compatible to the latest patch

I dont have any other mods affecting garrisons but WRE does not have that 1 extra Sagritarii compared to ERE. Also WRE big city does not get extra garrison from level 2 to 3.

I updated it to fix the minor germanic settlement bug where LVL4 town would get less garriso ntha LVL3

yes it is, but i stopped developping it so the changes to garrison are very limited. I planned bigger when I started but for now it stays with the listed small changes on garrison.
