I think Maximus idea below makes more sense, also the larger cities could be just given a militia,peasants or vigiles

Hi, I have an idea:
-Garrison only in the capital of the province.
-no garrison in minor cities, unless they have guardhouse or level 3.
Is there a mod that does this?

My take: good first try at garrisons as it fixes a few stupid omissions that CA still hasn't fixed. It can help a few. The author has many other great mods. Try out some more recent garrison mods if you are starting a new game.

Indeed this mod had problems, I intended to improve it futher but I didnt change it in 3 years. So sorry if it isnt very good in a garrison poin of view. But I understand what u ment its poorly programmed I admit that. I already intended to delete it, I wont keep it updated and will add the notification not supported in the description. Im very proud of the rest of my mods but this one wasnt ever finished and was more like and alpha.

nothing it's just that I need to click "update" after any little patch so the launcher doesnt say "out of date". It does still work exactly as before and is compatible to the latest patch

I dont have any other mods affecting garrisons but WRE does not have that 1 extra Sagritarii compared to ERE. Also WRE big city does not get extra garrison from level 2 to 3.

I updated it to fix the minor germanic settlement bug where LVL4 town would get less garriso ntha LVL3

yes it is, but i stopped developping it so the changes to garrison are very limited. I planned bigger when I started but for now it stays with the listed small changes on garrison.

yes they start depleted, it's like this because in vanilla CA changed them for ERE and I changed them back, but you have too wait a few turns for full manpower (no way around it for a little mod like mine).
The main idea form the official patches was to weaken Roman factions making sieges faster, my changes make them less vulnerable specially ERE. These factions are still doomed and will crumble.

ERE starts out with both exploratores and sagitarii in every settlement when I enable this mod - all other factions only have 3. Should be just 4 units per town for the ERE, the way it used to be. Most annoyingly, the exploratores and sagitarii start out depleted.

You might need to explain it further, conquered cities from other religions gice much less garrison. This is not intended to change, if you want the full garrison you have to convert the city.

I have noticed that the garrisons in conquered settlements, once you take over a building from say the ERE,as barbarian, still have the bug that this mod fixes , ie, a building which normally gives 3 germanic levys , only gives 1 germanic spearmen as garrisson when researching them as tier 2 replacements.

Ok now all garrison should appear as intended, sorry for not reacting sooner was caught up at work. There was a problem when overwriting scout equites in cavalry stable Level 3 overwriting all the garrisons units.

same here and it seems that the lv1 core chain settlements also do not give their garrisons ,
only 1 sagitarrii for east rome . it seems to be linked to tech upgrade of the ai

I dont know what my problem is but when I use your mod alone, all my western roman empire garrison gone. Even i start second turn and still same, no garrison at all.

save game compatible, just hit "endturn" and wait for them too apear next turn
