Historically Inaccurate New Sparta Units - No DLC Required

Description
Changelog

Historically inaccurate new units. These units have been added to increase Sparta's roster diversity. They share stats with similar units in the game and are accessible at similar tech levels, so take from that what you will.

Like my mod, but hate the trousers? Try this.

This mod complements my Greek States reskin.

These new units do not require additional DLC on top of the Greek States Culture Pack (which is required to have Sparta as a playable faction) and will otherwise always remain DLC-free. The DLC version may feature additional assets (such as female units).

New Units
  • Melee
    • 7 Infantry Units
      • Heroic Spartan Swordsmen* Level 5 - Monument of Leonidas
      • Royal Spartan Swordsmen Level 4 - Royal Barracks
      • Spartan Swordsmen Level 3 - Hoplite Barracks
      • Novice Spartan Swordsmen Level 2 - Holosideros Barracks
      • Heavy Perioikoi Swordsmen Level 4 - Mercenary Camp
      • Perioikoi Swordsmen Level 3 - Skirmisher Camp
      • Light Perioikoi Swordsmen Level 2 - Periokos Camp
  • Ranged
    • 1 Missile Unit
      • Spartan Sharpshooters Level 4 - Mercenary Camp
  • Special
    • 1 War Dog Unit
      • Hounds of Sparta Level 2 - Periokos Camp

* indicates unit is capped (limit of 2 unless otherwise stated)

See the discussions area for current unit stats.

Where to Find them

Beside each unit there is a level and the building required to recruit. All units are available for custom battles.

Compatibility

Tested with: Patch 19

As with all of my current and upcoming new unit projects, it only uses vanilla or new assets to maintain a small size and compatibility. In addition, all units use their own unique IDs and table names. So unless another mod copies those details, it's highly unlikely to cause problems.

Future

  • Melee/shock cavalry unit.

Postscript

Problems or requests? Leave me a comment.

To reiterate the opening line: it doesn't prescribe to any notions of historical accuracy. So beware, there is none of that to be found here.

I've put out a fix for that. I'm not sure when the arms went missing, as I haven't updated it in almost a year.

Royal Spartan Swordsmen is missing his arm now...

If you are experiencing a problem, could you describe it, so I know what needs fixing? I could not thoroughly test any of my mods following the new update, but custom battles work and I rushed the new units in the Grand Campaign, and they deployed without problem.
