Description

Don't Starve Food Overhaul - now ported from DST.
Compatible with or without the RoG expansion.

-
This mod completely rebalances all the food in Don't Starve Together (100+ items) - meats, fruits & vegetables, cooked food and others. That includes their hunger, healing and sanity values as well as their spoil rate. It brings a bit more challenge to the game and forces you to put a though into your food gathering techniques.

This mod also disallows using ice as a filler (except for Ice Cream and Melonsicle) and more than one twig in any Crock Pot recipe that allows using twigs. Any recipe that disregards these rules will result in cooking the Wet Goop.

You can no longer feed the bird in a cage meat.
Instead, bird can now drop an Egg at 1/3 chance when fed any kind of edible food.
- Feeding it with regular seeds also gives you 1/3 chance to drop Guano.
- Feeding it with fruits & vegetables drops 2-3 specific seeds.

Additionally this mod changes priorities of certain recipes to avoid cooking unwanted food
(e.g. Turkey Dinner instead of Mandrake Soup).

I advise using the "Display Food Values" mod.
Constructive feedback is always helpful.

August 20th - Mod has been updated. Check out the change notes on the right!

I would LOVE this mod for SW, is there any chance that would happen?

@sinbad does this mod work better with smartercorck pot than craft pot? It seems to me craft and smarterpot do the exact same thing.. Am i wrong or is it more than just an aesthetic reason... I use craft but if it dont work right i will switch to smarterpot.

I finished the values and gave the recipes all default priorities, but can't get the mod to launch properly. I'm basically at the full extent of my coding knowledge so I'll have to just give you the file if you want to figure it out.

Aight, after I finish the values I'll test it and see if the foods need to be added. Can I add you and toss you a link after doing so?

Bear in mind the values will probably need a LOT of tweaking. I love SW a lot but I'm far from an expert on the meta.

Umm, not sure. I changed priorities so that there's never a random food, but then it might be a little messed up with SW.

Hey IcyKix, I've almost got an update ready that edits the SW foods as well. However, do you know if the SW food needs to be added to the priority list?

Sinbad, could you copy a complete sentence for a recipe. im interested. thanks

And for some reason when I do use a twig in the recipe, it doesn't get displayed in the list, but it is working with Smarter Crockpot.
