I'll edit the thing about the pepper plants.
Regarding Bolkiah's ancestry, I'm still a little bit skeptical of the claim considering in general early Bruneian history is sketchy and Islamised to an extent, but I'll change my wording to "apparently" rather than alleged.
Thanks alot for this information!
I jumped into the game and checked the updated civilopedia. I have no complaints on Bolkiah's page. However, the two new things added to the factoid, I would like to have some words on that.
1) The practice of planting pepper plants was only carried out during Bolkiah's rule. Any subsequent rulers after him did not continue this practice.
2) Bolkiah is the descendant of Sultan Sharif Ali (he was an arabian) and Sharif Ali is the direct descendant of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through Hasan ibn Ali Saidina Hassan. (Wikipedia listed this in their page)
You can also check this website: (I know you might think it's unreliable but it has pretty much the same content as what I can find in government textbooks)

I'd didn't put too much consideration into making it a purely coastal tile, also CL's Malaysia has roughly the same unique component only with somewhat different abilities, and it is built on the coast.
Hey, it's me again! I wanna say that I really like the mod but there is one thing that's bugging me a little.. Why is the unique improvement (Kampong Ayer) built on land? And not on coast tiles? Is it because of script limitations or something else?
Also, a suggestion for a unique unit (for 3rd/4th unique components mod perhaps?), the Lantaka as a cannon unit replacer :). Perhaps with improved mobility/less strength and also a unique ability that gives +3 culture & +3 faith per turn when the unit is stationed in a city. (To reflect its widespread use for ceremonial and religious purposes)
I'm sorry in advance if I'm pushing it too far.
I will be sure to update the civ when I have time, thanks for your help!
