Description
Hello Engineers!

This mod adds pollution in the form of Shale Oil & Diesel to Space Engineers :)

With this mod you will find a new resource on some planets called Shale, this is refined in the Shale Oil Refinery to create Diesel. Diesel is used as the fuel for the Diesel generators.

Types of Generators and other Units currently available are:

Large ship:
- Diesel Generator A 1x1x1 5MW
- Diesel Generator Tanks 1x1x1 2MW
- Diesel Generator B 2x1x1 10MW
- Diesel Generator B Large 4x2x2 200MW
- Small Ship Azimuth V8 Engine 25MW
- Small Ship Azimuth V8 Engine Turbo 50MW

Tank

- Used as a cargo container, store your excess Diesel here :)

Shale Oil Refinery

- Refines Shale Oil to Diesel, high speed and +20% efficiency compared to using standard refinery. The refinement process for Shale Oil leaves a large amount of rock by-product and this is reflected by the gravel by-product of refining the Shale.

Diesel Generator A can be run in long lines and will appear as a larger Generator and has conveyor functionality on both ends to facilitate this.


BP Ultimate Vortex 98 Octane

Made in the assembler, the process of further refining the fuel, it is used by the V8 car engines

09/06/2020 - Shale texture updated Again, source (Angel&Mari) and Fixed Shale on Planets, no longer spawns in asteroids. Very Common on Earth and Mars somewhat common on Alien, doesnt spawn on any moons.

For anyone wondering, as of 11/13/2023 this mod is working as intended. It even works with AQD - Vanilla Ore Distribution {LINK REMOVED} without them interfering with each other's ore generation. The only issue is the conveyor ports aren't visible, which can make placement a pain of you don't already know where they are (on the bottom).

If you do end up doing something with it and pubbing it, il keep an eye out for Codecat hopefully he doesn't give you shit incase you use any models that where his xD

Another Mod that i have that could use a massive facelift is the hydrogen reactors mod :P wink wink nudge nudge.
Id do it but just cant find the will, Id rather wait to start from scratch with some kind of Space Engineers 2.

Thank you! Then I'll make a brand new standalone mod based on yours. And I'll keep you in touch when it will be finished so you'll tell me if it's all good for you :)

But it could take some time from now.

Also, perhaps I'll rework the V8 engines models, as they dont seem to accept all colors and textures. So they always appears shiny. Which is actually quite annoying on a madmax / wasteland environment.

I'm also thinking about reversing theses models as I think the most powerful engine should also be the largest one.

@Thundercraft yes I also think that its not really crtical to patch xml configurations. Especially when the mod's visibility is set as unlisted.

Its not the same than 3d models or C# sources, which are covered by copyright laws and intellectual property.

However, I consider its far more respectful when you inform the original mod creator that you use his mod as a working base :)

To answer your question, I'll warn Visentiel here when I feel my work ready to be public. Then he will tell me if he wants to integrate it, or if he would prefer it to be a standalone mod, or as a patch dependant from his mod.
