Modern Times

Description
The mod moves timeline to 1815-2017 - you can pick any time in this era, and you'll have reasonably accurate borders, and at least for major countries historical rulers.

Rulers of smaller countries and vassal dukes are mostly generated automatically - but there's plenty of historical rulers like Victoria, the other Napoleon Bonaparte, Vladimir Putin, Adolf Hitler, Victor Emmanuel, and so on to play as.

Number of countries with independent rulers will expand in the future - and if you don't find character you like, you can always use ruler designer.

To enable dynastic politics right away, every ruler has a chance to get a number of automatically generated sons and daughters of appropriate age.

Mod quality is playable but unpolished.

Last updated for 3.2

There's also a submod which adds music for Modern Times - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=751054287

I don't know if you'll keep tweaking this mode, but King Felipe VI of Spain is Bourbon in the mode, but his real name seems to be de Bourbon, the dynasty is already in the mod, but for some reason you made a generic for King J. Carlos and Felipe instead of just adding them to the De Bourbon that already exists in the base game

DenReal: "Empire of Rus" has Ukrainian coat of arms in vanilla CK2, which actually makes sense as Kyiv was the political center of Orthodox Eastern Slavic ("Rus") people before Mongol invasions, and Moscow didn't matter back then.

I didn't change CoAs (other than adding a few new ones - USA, Canada, Brazil, and Belarus) as that's a lot of work, and most of the CoAs are reasonable. If anyone wants to submit a bunch of new CoAs (128x128 tga files), I could update the mod.

As mod covers over 200 years of possible start dates, I did some title renaming (like Empire of Russia to Soviet Union then back) depending on start date, instead of making each a completely separate title. Making Soviet Union a separate thing would mean nothing is de jure for it, and it would just fall apart right away, breaking gameplay. As player you can rename your title in-game if something makes more sense for alt history you're telling.

Does it answer your questions?

Why does ruzzia have ukrainian coat of arms, and why does soviet union is called "empire of the rus". makes no sense

Sergeant Non Sweat: I don't think so, both mods update too much.

It should be compatible with most mods that don't change the map or history files.

Is this compatible with CK2+?

gwennetts: It could be funny to rename some diseases to more modern names. I don't plan to update the mod, but if I ever do, I might do that.

sorry i'm worried i may have annoyed you extremely. But could you add covid lol?

I know but it would be better if it was at least a merchant republic, but i predict that would be very hard to code if not impossible. And (likely because of my many mods or i messed it up somehow) the troops didn't spawn. When i'm ready to do this mod again i might try to do this again

gwennetts: The mod uses unedited map (except for Suez Canal). US troops can show up by events.
