… Evil never truly dies …

In the depths of space lies a region infected by death. Barren of life, terrible things move. Those who enter do not return.

Zombies in Space

This adds a new faction to the game for the Undead. A ferocious enemy with no fear. They are not slow. These are fast 28 Day Later zombies that will attack any living thing that comes near them. The more you try to destroy them, the more deadly they become.

Zombies attack anything. They do not use resources. They do not use factories to reproduce units. However, if you do not completely kill them, they will come back to life or even multiply as parts break-off. Your efforts to fight them could very well make them stronger.

This faction is not overpowered, but they are meant to be tough and you may have to change your tactics when fighting them. They will fit fine within the normal game and I don't expect experienced players to have any trouble with them.

There are also three boss-type ships. Two of them aren't too bad, but one of them has a surprise. If you see a big red ship, beware. I tried to limit how often these ships spawn (preferably only one each), but sometimes the game spawns them in groups.

This is NOT designed to be a playable faction. I wanted these to be a new challenging enemy to add to your worlds. However, I left them unlockable so you can mess with the blocks if you like. There is a factory block for your use, but the AI will not use it. I'm sure some things will not work properly. In the hands of a player, the blocks will be overpowered.

Update 1/28/17: Weapon tweeks to improve performance a bit. Basically guns fire less often, but do more damage.

Update 1/20/17:
Flies spawn a lot less often, but now have chain guns and explode on contact.


Details for other modders:
I wanted to make a mod that uses the ATTACK ai flag. This is the same ai that ships use in tournament mode. It does nothing but attack relentlessly. No caution, no need for resources or reproduction, no concern for it's own safety. It simply attacks anything within range. Sounds cool, but the problem with the Attack flag is that the ai can't reproduce normally. Once you kill them, they are totally dead.
So I had to make an alternate form of reproduction. The angle I chose was to have multiple cores, so even small pieces can rebuild if you knock them out of commission. If you knock parts off, each piece will become a new ship. Even as you beat them down, they will slowly rebuild themselves and attack again. … zombies seem like a good fit.

所以我不得不制作另一种复制形式。我选择的角度是有多个核心,所以如果你把它们淘汰,即使是小块也可以重建。如果你把零件敲掉,每块都会变成一艘新船。即使你打败了他们,他们也会慢慢重建自己并再次攻击。...僵尸似乎很合适。

17-1-28更新:武器周可以稍微提高性能。基本上,枪支射击的频率较低,但造成的伤害更大。

更新 1/20/17:
苍蝇产卵的频率要低得多,但现在有链枪并在接触时爆炸。

Cool idea, but they are push overs compared to other modded factions. Please buff there parts.

Quite possibly. I tested again and it seems that under normal conditions, they regen their subcommand cores every tournament now

I did some tests and it looks like they do. ... One thing to remember though, ships will not rebuild when they're under attack. Maybe that's what you're seeing.

if you destroy a zombie ship but leave a single pod more zombies will come, that's why i like this mod
